〇不時に此病を発して直ちに良医の療治
を受る都合を得ざる事あり又此病は甚だ

て卒然（にはかに）来る者も亦あり
〇前兆の症候は次に列挙（つらねあぐる）が如し

〇突然この病気を発症して、すぐに良医の治療を受けることができない場合がある。また、この病気は非常に簡単な薬方を用いることで、その進行をしばしば防ぐことができる場合があるので、この病症をよく見分け知ることは極めて重要なことである。しかし多くの人がこれを見分けることができずに、むなしく危篤状態に至らせることがある。これは嘆かわしいことではないだろうか。そこで、この病症を明確に告知し、かつ医師の到着を待つ間によく用いるべき薬法を、あらかじめ素人に心得させておくべきことを我々は考えるに至った。これは実に肝要なことである。

〇この病気が発症する際、あるいはその前兆の症状があるものもある。しかしながら、しばしばこの症状がなく突然に現れるものもまたある。

〇前兆の症状は次に列挙するとおりである。

However, many people cannot distinguish these symptoms and allow the condition to progress futilely to a critical state. Is this not truly lamentable? Therefore, we have come to consider that it is essential to clearly announce the symptoms of this disease and to have laypeople understand in advance the medicinal methods that can be effectively used while waiting for a physician to arrive. This is indeed a matter of vital importance.
