いゝわけもあらしの木（こ）の葉むら〳〵ばつと
なき倒（たを）さんに《割書：シヤ｜》何ほどの事あらんと扇子（おふぎ）を
はらいて厳然（げんぜん）たり○此所 岩間（いわま）よりせり上ケ○蒼述（そうじゆつ）【＝蒼朮】のにほひ甚し
木元（きもと）橘（たちばな）の精（せい）出￣ル○色（いろ）づく顔（かほ）あかく自（みづから）の葉（は）を惣
身にまとい山まゆの鈴（れい）をふりうづ巻（まき）のばくの縄（なわ）を
もち○善哉（ぜんざい）〳〵我こそは此山中の香味（かうみ）の
身（しん）橘の精霊（せいれい）なりさなせそ〳〵そこつは無用さい
ぜんゟなんぢらがいどみあらそふいち〳〵は一部始終（いちぶしじう）聞（きゝ）
とゞけたわれ山中の諸木（しよぼく）のみなかみ名（な）に橘の高（かう）
名（めい）はたれしらぬ火の筑紫（つくし）がた六十余州の外迄
も珍味（ちんみ）の聞（きこ）へありそ海（うみ）ふかき心のあればこそかう
ぞを当座の木頭（きかしら）とさだめたる掟（おきて）をそむき銀（い）
杏（てう）が我意（がい）をふるふ事 無道（ぶどう）とや非義（ひぎ）とや云（いわ）ん
現代語訳
言い訳もあらしの木の葉群々がばっと泣き倒さんに、何ほどの事があろうかと扇子を払って厳然としている。○この所岩間より迫り上がる○蒼朮の匂い甚だし。
木元橘の精が出る○色づく顔赤く、自らの葉を総身にまとい、山繭の鈴を振り、渦巻きの縛の縄を持つ○善哉善哉、我こそはこの山中の香味の身、橘の精霊なり。さなせそそこつは無用、最前よりなんじらが挑み争う一々は一部始終聞き届けたわ。
我、山中の諸木の皆頭、名に橘の高名は誰知らぬ。火の筑紫方六十余州の外までも珍味の聞こえあり。そ海深き心のあればこそ、楮を当座の木頭と定めたる掟を背き、銀杏が我意を振るう事、無道とや非義とや言わん。
