の内へ泊めてくれと言ったけれど、兎一匹手に入らず、すごすごと戻る猟師なので、親とも申しようがない。狼に用心して、十分隠れていらっしゃいと言って、どこへ行ったのか影も見えない。なんと、ここは天狗の集会所。しかし、あちら（天狗）が鼻高なれば、十六兵衛は鼻の下が長い。めったに負けるものではないと、ようやく谷底へ這いずり下り、昼のままで腹は背中にくっつき、
