They mounted their horses and, escorted by the voices of ministers and common people unanimously celebrating with cries of "Long live the lord," rode side by side through the city and were led to a prepared beautiful palace. This palace had originally been constructed for great festivals and banquets, so its structure and beauty far surpassed the imperial palace. Moreover, it was designed so that one could travel through the gardens to the emperor's private chambers, which is why it was chosen and designated as the younger king's lodging. The emperor took a bath, removed his ceremonial robes, told the younger king he would change into everyday clothes, returned to his private chambers, quickly finished bathing, immediately returned to the younger king, and they both abandoned formal etiquette, sat comfortably on reclining chairs, and spoke of their affection during their long separation
