訪れてきて、王の容貌が優れないのを見て、何か心を傷める事があるのだろうか、何とかしてその憂いを晴らそうと、あらゆる手を尽くして心を悩ませ、豪華な宴席を開き、美女を選んでその興を助けさせたが、かえってその心の傷を増すようすを見て、また遊興の趣向を変えて、城を離れること一日の道のりの地において狩りを催したところ、王は体調が優れない理由で宮殿に残りたいと願ったので、帝はもとより弟王の意に反することを恐れ、無理に誘うことはせず、よく養生してくださいと気遣い、群臣を従えて狩場へと出かけられた。韃靼王は兄帝を見送り、独り一人

came to visit and saw that the king's countenance was poor, wondering what sorrowful matter might be troubling him. He tried every possible means to dispel that melancholy, exhausting his mind with worry. He held lavish banquets and selected beautiful women to help enliven his spirits, but seeing that this only seemed to increase his heartache, he changed the nature of the entertainment and arranged a hunt at a place one day's journey from the castle. When the king requested to remain in the palace, saying he was not feeling well, the emperor, naturally fearing to go against his younger brother's wishes, did not force him to come, but advised him to take good care of himself and departed for the hunting grounds with his retainers.
