ガヒ馿馬ノ友愛（ ｜シンセツ）ヲ感ジ又其多智ヲ称シ小厮（コセガレ）メ
早ク来レカシト勇気ヲ振ツテ待構ヘタリ富農
ハ是等ノ談ヲ聴キ独リ点頭（ウナヅイ）テ家ニ帰リ去レリ。

言うべきだ。しかし、お前が今日のような恥辱を受けるのは、お前の怠慢から生じたもので、人が天を恨む理由はない。今にでも雇い人が粗悪な豆や粗い糠を持って来たら、お前は鼻でそれを嗅いで、再び振り返りもせずに捨てて食べてはならない。もしお前がよく私の言うところに従えば、たちまちお前の待遇が変わり、私に大いに感謝してもまだ足りないと感じるほどの喜びがあるだろう」と諭した。すると牡牛はその諫言に従い、驢馬の友愛（親切）を感じ、またその知恵を称賛し、「小僧め、早く来いよ」と勇気を奮い起こして待ち構えた。富農はこれらの話を聞き、一人でうなずいて家に帰っていった。
