来リ爾(ソノ)時大君汝ノ意ニ任セテ快ヨク剣ヲ受ク ベキナリト懇願スレハ然ラバ汝 阿尓良(アルラ)ノ神ニ 誓フベキヤト問ヒ返スニ商人直チニ誓ヲ立テ ケレバ魔君忽チ形ヲ隠シ去リニケル却テ此商 人ハ吾家ニ帰リ有リシ事共漏サズ家人ニ語リ ケルニ其妻ハ其髪ヲ拖(ヒ)キ其胸ヲ撞ツテ其 子女(コドモ) ト共ニ号哭シ商人モ妻子ノ悲ミヲ見テ一層ノ 悲愁ヲ増シタリケリ兎角スル中ニ其年モ暮レ ケレバ此善商人其家事ヲ整理シ借タル財ハ之 ヲ償ヒ貧ナル者ハ之ヲ恵ミ妻子ニハ家産ヲ遺

来て、その時大君よ、汝の意に任せて快く剣を受けるであろう』と懇願すると、『それならば汝はアッラーの神に誓うべきか』と問い返すと、商人は直ちに誓いを立てたので、魔王は忽ち姿を隠して去ってしまった。さて、この商人は我が家に帰り、あったことをすべて漏らさず家人に語ったところ、その妻は髪を引き、胸を叩いて、その子どもたちと共に号泣し、商人も妻子の悲しみを見て一層の悲愁を増したのであった。あれこれするうちにその年も暮れたので、この善良な商人はその家事を整理し、借りた財産はこれを償い、貧しい者にはこれを恵み、妻子には家産を遺して
