の底の水屑となってしまおう」ともう堪えられないと嘆かれたので、舅はつくづくと考えていると、思い出したことがあった。父方の伯母に丹後の内侍として宮中に参上している人がある。早速申そうということで、密かに手紙を書いて送った。「思いもよらないことに左大臣殿の御邸にお伺いしたい事があります。参上いたしましょう」と書かれていた。すぐにお返事があってご覧になると、「夕方、人目につかないように御車をお送りしましょう」と書かれていた。舅と姫君は喜ばれて、御簾や几帳を開けて塵を掃き清め、御布団を畳んで竿にかけた。枕が一つになるまで嘆かれていたのに、枕も今は片付けて
