重正父稲生小三郎重格ト申候長谷川藤五郎殿ニ相勤禄
二百五十石給リ候藤五殿子息幼稚ニテ家督ノ後死去被
申跡目断絶ニ付家中一統ノ浪人仕加州エ立退蟄居仕相
果候ニ付重正儀若年之節江戸表エ罷越身上才覚仕
御家エ被 召出其後肥前天草一揆之節御徒之者之内十
人肥前エ被遣候中水野日向守殿エ父子エノ御使ニ小森
庄兵衛ト高柳仁太夫両人被 仰付罷越直ニ日向守殿ノ
手ニテ相働候様ニ被 仰付罷越候処即刻日向守殿御逢
両人エ鎗一本宛賜リ鑓働仕候其節其場々々日向守殿ノ
家来中ト詞ヲカハシ以後証拠ノ書状ヲモ取置今ニ所持
仕候天草落去ノ後罷帰候節日向守殿ヨリ御返書被進候

忠昌公の御代に江戸において召し出された
● 高柳仁太夫重正《本国三河 生国越前 姓藤原》
重正の父稲生小三郎重格という者は長谷川藤五郎殿に仕えて禄
二百五十石を給与されていた。藤五殿の子息が幼稚で家督の後死去
したため跡目断絶となり、家中一統が浪人して加州へ立ち退き蟄居していたが、
やがて亡くなったため、重正は若年の時に江戸表へ出向いて身上の才覚をし、
御家へ召し出された。その後肥前天草一揆の際、御徒の者の内十
人が肥前へ遣わされた中で、水野日向守殿への父子への御使いに小森
庄兵衛と高柳仁太夫両人が仰せ付けられ、出向いて直接日向守殿の
手で働くように仰せ付けられて出向いたところ、即刻日向守殿に御対面し、
両人へ槍一本ずつ賜り槍働きをした。その際その場その場で日向守殿の
家来中と言葉を交わし、その後証拠の書状も取り置いて今でも所持
している。天草落去の後帰った際、日向守殿より御返書を進上された。

Summoned into service in Edo during Lord Tadamasa's reign
● Takayanagi Nitadayū Shigemasa《Home province: Mikawa, Birth province: Echizen, Surname: Fujiwara》
Shigemasa's father, Inō Kosaburō Shigenori, served Lord Hasegawa Tōgorō and received a stipend
of 250 koku. When Lord Tōgorō's son died young after inheriting the family headship,
the succession was discontinued, so all the retainers became rōnin, withdrew to Kaga Province, and lived in seclusion.
After his father died, Shigemasa, while still young, went to Edo and used his resourcefulness to secure his position,
and was summoned into service by our domain. Later, during the Hizen Amakusa Rebellion, ten men
from among the foot soldiers were dispatched to Hizen, and among them, Komori
Shōbei and Takayanagi Nitadayū were both appointed as messengers to Lord Mizuno Hyūga-no-kami and his son.
When they went and were ordered to work directly under Lord Hyūga-no-kami's
command, they immediately had an audience with Lord Hyūga-no-kami, who
bestowed a spear each upon both men, and they performed spear combat. On that occasion, they exchanged words
with Lord Hyūga-no-kami's retainers at various places, and later kept written testimonials as evidence, which they still possess
to this day. When they returned after the fall of Amakusa, Lord Hyūga-no-kami sent them a letter of reply.
