定吉父市橋監物定舎ト申者美濃国市橋ノ郷ヲ領知仕由
其子団野万右衛門定吉儀柔気為修行廻国仕候節山城国
鳥羽畷ヲ夜中ニ罷通候節強盗大勢罷出道ヲ妨候故不得
止事不残切留内一人為証拠搦捕京都所司板倉伊賀守殿
エ註進仕候処賞美之上証拠之状ヲ給リ于今所持仕候其
上右ノ働並柔気ノ術鍛煉仕候趣達 叡聞 後水尾院様
御宇寛永元甲子年参 内被 仰付天下無双之称ヲ被

● 団野万右衛門定吉《本国・生国ともに美濃 姓藤原 初名市橋軍兵衛》
定吉の父市橋監物定舎という者は美濃国市橋の郷を領知していたという。
その子団野万右衛門定吉は柔術修行のため諸国を巡っていた際、山城国
鳥羽畷を夜中に通りかかった時、強盗が大勢現れ道を塞いだため、やむを得ず
全員を切り留め、うち一人を証拠として捕らえて京都所司の板倉伊賀守殿に
報告したところ、賞賛された上で証拠の状を給わり、今でも所持している。その
上、右の働きならびに柔術の技術を鍛錬した趣が叡聞に達し、後水尾院様の
御宇寛永元甲子年（1624年）に参内を仰せつけられ、天下無双の称号を
賜り、その上勅印を頂戴し、今でも所持している。その後紀州に赴き
しばらく滞在していたところ、忠昌公がお聞きになり、荒川右衛門太を通じて知行
五百石を下し置くべき旨を仰せ下されたため参上したところ、三百石を
下され、追って定吉の甥市橋小膳という者が召し出されて二百石を下され、都合

Summoned into service in Echizen during Lord Tadamasa's reign
● Danno Man'emon Sadayoshi 《Home province and birth province both Mino, Family name: Fujiwara, Original name: Ichihashi Gunbei》
Sadayoshi's father, called Ichihashi Kenbutsu Sadasha, is said to have held domain over Ichihashi village in Mino Province.
His son Danno Man'emon Sadayoshi, while traveling the provinces for jujutsu training, was passing through
Toba-nawate in Yamashiro Province at night when a large group of bandits appeared and blocked the road. Having no choice,
he cut down all of them and captured one as evidence, reporting to Itakura Iga-no-kami, the Kyoto magistrate.
He was praised and given a certificate of evidence, which he still possesses. Furthermore,
news of this deed and his training in jujutsu techniques reached the Imperial ears, and in Kan'ei 1, year of the Wood Rat (1624) during the reign of Retired Emperor Go-Mizunoo,
he was ordered to appear at court and granted the title of "peerless under heaven,"
and moreover received an Imperial seal, which he still possesses. Thereafter he went to Kii Province
and stayed there for a while. When Lord Tadamasa heard of this, through Arakawa Uemon-ta he was told
that he would be granted a stipend of 500 koku, so he presented himself. He was granted 300 koku,
