先祖伊黒源左兵衛重信ト申者江州伊黒ト申所ニ代々居
住仕候処重信少年之時分兵乱ニテ伊黒屋敷滅亡仕家来
ノ者ノ介抱ヲ以立退其後越後国村上周防守頼勝方ニ罷
有候由其節ノ判物等モ有之候処先年於江戸表焼失仕候
其子田中源兵衛重次儀モ村上家ニ罷有候内大阪御陣ノ
節父重信為名代十七歳ニテ出陣仕候由伊黒ノ名字
忠昌公御唱悪敷 思召候間改候様ニ被 仰付田中ト相

●田中源兵衛重次《本国近江 生国越後｜初名伊黒源兵衛》
先祖伊黒源左兵衛重信という者は近江国伊黒という所に代々居住していたが、重信が少年の時分に兵乱で伊黒屋敷が滅亡し、家来の者の介抱により立ち退いた。その後越後国村上周防守頼勝の元に仕えることになった。その節の判物等もあったが、先年江戸で焼失してしまった。
その子田中源兵衛重次も村上家に仕えていたが、大坂の陣の節に父重信の名代として十七歳で出陣した。伊黒の名字を忠昌公が縁起が悪いとお思いになったため改めるよう仰せ付けられ、田中と改めた。その後吉品公の御附人となり吉江に相勤め、元の名である伊黒と改めた。

●Tanaka Genbei Shigetsugu 《Home province: Omi, Birth province: Echigo | Original name: Ikuro Genbei》
His ancestor, Ikuro Genzaemon Shigenobu, lived for generations in a place called Ikuro in Omi Province. When Shigenobu was young, the Ikuro residence was destroyed in warfare, and he fled with the care of his retainers. Later he came to serve Murakami Suo-no-kami Yorikatsu in Echigo Province. There were official documents from that time, but they were lost in a fire in Edo in previous years.
His son, Tanaka Genbei Shigetsugu, also served the Murakami house. During the Siege of Osaka, he went to battle at age seventeen as his father Shigenobu's representative. Since Lord Tadamasa thought the surname Ikuro was inauspicious, he ordered it to be changed, so it was changed to Tanaka. Later, he became an attendant to Lord Yoshishina and served in Yoshie, then changed back to his original name Ikuro.
