奇病論
○奇病（きひやう）とは尋常（よのつね）の病（やまひ）にあらず奇怪（きくはい）なる病（やまひ）なり
古来（こらい）酒（さけ）に因（より）て種々（しゆ〳〵）奇怪（きくはい）なる病（やまひ）を為（なす）事 有（あり）と見（みゆ）れは
遍（あまねく）是を引（ひき）も出（いづ）へけれとも巻帙（くわんじつ）の多（おほ）かるを厭（いとひ）て略（ほゝ）
其（その）一二（いちに）を記（しるす）総（すへ）て大（おほい）に飲者（のむもの）は名状（なつけかたどり）かたき病症（ひやうしやう）を致（いたす）
事 常（つね）に多（おほ）しさる者（もの）は又（また）いかなる奇病（きひやう）をか為出（なしいて）んも
知（しる）へからざれは是を見（み）ても能（よく）慎（つゝしみ）戒（いましむ）る事をおもふ

奇病論
○奇病とは普通の病気ではなく、奇怪な病気である。
古来より酒によって種々の奇怪な病気を引き起こすことがあると見えるので、
広くこれらを引用して記載すべきであろうが、巻数が多くなることを嫌って、その
一部分を記録する。すべて大量に飲酒する者は、名状しがたい病症を引き起こす
ことが常に多い。そのような者はまた、どのような奇病を引き起こすかも
知ることができないので、これを見てもよく慎み戒めることを考えるべきである。

Theory of Strange Diseases
○Strange diseases are not ordinary illnesses, but bizarre and mysterious ailments.
Since ancient times, it appears that alcohol has caused various strange and mysterious diseases,
so it would be appropriate to extensively cite and record these examples, but disliking the
resulting voluminous nature of such a work, I record only a portion of them. In general, those who drink heavily very often develop indescribable disease symptoms. Since it is impossible to know what kind of strange diseases such people might develop, one should carefully observe restraint and take warning from these examples.
