 百石之内百五拾石被下外様組付被 仰付  五拾石ハ甥八兵衛被下置候   但是迄被下置候御擬作は被 召上杉浦藤   八郎組へ入 御城御番相勤候事 一正保元申年二月江戸為勤番罷登候事 一同年四月於江戸御供番被 仰付候事 一同月三春騒動ニ付  土津様御下向ニ付御供仕会津へ罷下候事 一慶安元子年四月江戸為勤番罷登候処  土津様日光へ 御社参ニ付日光へ御供仕候   但御供番十九年無懈怠隔年ニ相勤候   処勤番立帰共ニ年月不詳候事 一寛文二寅年八月御納戸役被 仰付候   但延宝元子年十二月迄無懈怠相勤候処   勤番立帰を始拝領物等不詳候事 【頭注朱書】 「一寛文十一亥年  十二月如例年御古  御小袖被下置候事」 一同十二子年十二月  土津様御逝去被遊候ニ付翌春ゟ御遥拝  殿へ相勤候事 一延宝二寅年二月  鳳翔院様御納戸役被 仰付候 【頭注朱書】 「一延宝三卯年二月  御遥拝所御#1三年  之内相勤候為御  褒美銀子三  枚被下候事」

現代語訳

(前頁より続く)百石のうち百五十石を拝領し、外様組付を仰せ付けられた。五十石は甥の八兵衛に下し置かれた。   但し、これまで拝領していた御擬作は召し上げられ、杉浦藤八郎組に入り、御城御番を勤めた。 一、正保元年(申年)二月、江戸へ勤番のため上った。 一、同年四月、江戸にて御供番を仰せ付けられた。 一、同月、三春騒動につき、土津様が御下向になられたため、御供をして会津へ下った。 一、慶安元年(子年)四月、江戸へ勤番のため上ったところ、土津様が日光へ御社参になられたため、日光へ御供をした。   但し、御供番は十九年間、怠りなく隔年に勤めたが、勤番の往来の年月はいずれも不詳である。 一、寛文二年(寅年)八月、御納戸役を仰せ付けられた。   但し、延宝元年(子年)十二月まで怠りなく勤めたが、勤番の往来をはじめ、拝領物等は不詳である。 【頭注朱書】 「一、寛文十一年(亥年)十二月、例年のごとく御古御小袖を下し置かれた。」 一、同十二年(子年)十二月、土津様が御逝去なされたため、翌春より御遥拝殿へ勤めた。 一、延宝二年(寅年)二月、鳳翔院様の御納戸役を仰せ付けられた。 【頭注朱書】 「一、延宝三年(卯年)二月、御遥拝所において三年の間勤めたことの御褒美として、銀子三枚を下し置かれた。」

(Continued from previous page) — he was granted one hundred and fifty koku out of [a stipend of] one hundred koku, and was appointed to the Tozama-gumi (outside retainer unit). Fifty koku were granted to his nephew Hachibei.   Note: The gisaku (provisional cultivation stipend) that had been granted until that time was revoked; he was placed into Sugiura Tōhachirō's unit and served as a castle guard (go-shiro go-ban). One entry: In the second month of Shōhō 1st year [Year of the Monkey, 1644], he went up to Edo for duty rotation (kinban). One entry: In the fourth month of the same year, in Edo, he was appointed as an escort guard (otomo-ban). One entry: In the same month, due to the Miharu Disturbance, Lord Haniwa [Tsuchitsu-sama] made a journey down [to Aizu], and he accompanied him in escort, returning to Aizu. One entry: In the fourth month of Keian 1st year [Year of the Rat, 1648], he went up to Edo for duty rotation; however, as Lord Haniwa made a pilgrimage (shazan) to Nikkō, he accompanied him to Nikkō.   Note: He served as escort guard (otomo-ban) for nineteen years without negligence, alternating years; however, the dates of his comings and goings for duty rotation are unknown. One entry: In the eighth month of Kanbun 2nd year [Year of the Tiger, 1662], he was appointed to the post of o-nando-yaku (keeper of the lord's personal treasury/wardrobe).   Note: He served without negligence until the twelfth month of Enpō 1st year [Year of the Rat, 1673]; however, details regarding the comings and goings for duty rotation as well as items received as gifts are unknown. [Marginal note in red ink:] "One entry: In the twelfth month of Kanbun 11th year [Year of the Boar, 1671], as in previous years, he was granted a gift of used kosode (short-sleeved robes)." One entry: In the twelfth month of the same [Kanbun] 12th year [Year of the Rat, 1672], Lord Haniwa passed away; from the following spring, he served at the Go-yōhai-den (Hall of Distant Reverence). One entry: In the second month of Enpō 2nd year [Year of the Tiger, 1674], he was appointed as o-nando-yaku (keeper of the treasury/wardrobe) for Lady Hōshōin. [Marginal note in red ink:] "One entry: In the second month of Enpō 3rd year [Year of the Hare, 1675], as a reward for serving at the Go-yōhai-sho (Place of Distant Reverence) for three years, he was granted three pieces of silver (ginshi)."
