現代語訳

ただし、会津へ差し下された者であるところ、忰(せがれ)の庄右衛門が   宣明院様の御懐守を勤め、御雇いを願い出た上で、   自力にて相勤めるよう仰せ付けられた儀であるので、   会津渡りにて江戸表に差し置かれる旨、   仰せ出だされた。 一、同年十一月 席は廻米役人の次、検地竿頭の上に仰せ付けられた。 一、同十二午年(1762)四月 忰の庄右衛門が出精よく相勤めたことにつき、代番勤めの形をもって小普請御免を下された。 一、同月十七日 五十五歳にて病死。法名、圭殿道照居士。葬所、江戸三田西蓮寺。 女      宝暦三酉年(1753)八月二十日、病死。法名、釈妙昌信女。葬所、同上。   母、池田氏の女。 女      宝暦十三未年(1763)七月十八日、病死。法名、釈妙栄善女。葬所、同上。

Note: Although he was one who had been sent down to Aizu, since his son Shōemon had been appointed to serve as御懐守 (o-futokoro-mori, personal attendant/guardian) to Lord Senmeiin, and had been instructed to serve through his own efforts after petitioning for employment, it was decreed that he would remain stationed in Edo while being classified as a transfer to Aizu. 1. In the same year, eleventh month: His seat ranking was placed next below the mawarimai-yakunin (rice transport officers) and above the kenchi-kantō (chief surveyor of land inspections). 2. In the twelfth year of the same era, Year of the Horse (Hōreki 12, 1762), fourth month: As his son Shōemon had been diligently and admirably performing his duties, he was granted exemption from kobishin (inactive reserve status) in the form of serving as a substitute (daiban). 3. On the seventeenth day of the same month: Died of illness at the age of fifty-five. Posthumous Buddhist name: Keiden Dōshō Koji. Place of burial: Sairenji Temple, Mita, Edo. [Daughter]: Died of illness on the twentieth day of the eighth month of Hōreki 3, Year of the Rooster (1753). Posthumous Buddhist name: Shaku Myōshō Shinnyо. Place of burial: same as above.   Mother: a daughter of the Ikeda clan. [Daughter]: Died of illness on the eighteenth day of the seventh month of Hōreki 13, Year of the Sheep (1763). Posthumous Buddhist name: Shaku Myōei Zennyо. Place of burial: same as above.
