　仲春十八日の芳翰を、頃日松平薩摩守より相違なく伝達され、閲覧した。
　まことに幸いに来意の如く、去夏貴国の使者金武・国頭が江戸に来て、我が
大君に拝謁し、かつ
大納言殿に賀詞を奉ったが、その暇を賜って帰国する時に音物を遣わされた。足下がその厚情に感じて
　謝辱の使者読谷山王子を薩州に渡来させた趣を、薩
　摩守が具に演説され、即座に
上聞に達し、
　御喜色があり、遐想を安んじられるべきである。また我が済が贈った菲物を謝されたが、これは
　慇懃の至りではないか。今また土宜両種を寄せられ、収納して怡悦している。その他のことは
　薩摩守をして告諭させる。恐々不宣

Your gracious letter of the 18th day of mid-spring was recently conveyed without error by Matsudaira Satsuma-no-kami and read.
Most fortunately, as per your intention, last summer the envoys from your country, Kin and Kunigami, came to Edo and had audience with our
Great Lord, and also offered congratulations to
His Lordship the Dainagon. When they were granted leave to return to their country, gifts were bestowed upon them. Your Excellency, being moved by such generous sentiment,
sent Prince Yomitanzan as an envoy of gratitude to cross to Satsuma Province. This matter was reported in detail by Satsu-
ma-no-kami and immediately brought to
the august attention, resulting in
imperial pleasure, which should put distant thoughts at ease. Also, you have expressed gratitude for the humble gifts that we sent - is this not
the height of sincere courtesy? Now again you have sent two types of local products, which we have received with great joy. Other matters
will be conveyed through Satsuma-no-kami. With utmost reverence, inadequately expressed.
