　乗込也松平甚三郎は正月朔日に手負足立難
　に付而養生之内之事な連共駕籠に乗出丸之
　脇之二之曲輪ゟ乗込一番乗春る榊原飛騨守
　に二之曲輪尓て甚三郎者な合して榊原飛騨

　守誓文を立て一番乗疑ひ無旨を甚三郎に断
　りけ連は飛騨守子息左衛門佐一揆原と志あ
　ひ働を甚三郎に我子左衛門佐働を見よ迚見
　せ希連は甚三郎尤見多るとて挨拶而此席に
　本丸迄乗取らんとて互に立分連たる由聞及
　皆人評判仕給は甚三郎は手早き軽き武者也
　天草丸尓ても様子能由聞及大将尓しても士
　卒尓ても能武者哉与評判春るもの多かりけ

込んだ。出曲輪からは鍋島、小笠原右近太夫、松平丹後守、小笠原信濃守、戸田左門の人数が乗り込んだ。天草丸からは松倉伊豆守、板倉主水正、井上筑後守、石貝十蔵、馬場三郎左衛門尉、牧野伝蔵、その外諸国からの使者が三の曲輪から乗り込んだ。林丹波守は松平右衛門佐隊に付けられた分であるので、大江口から乗り込んだ。松平甚三郎は正月元日に負傷し、足立ちが困難であったので養生中のことであったが、駕籠に乗って出丸の脇の二の曲輪から乗り込み、一番乗りをした榊原飛騨守と二の曲輪で甚三郎が出会って、榊原飛騨守が

誓文を立てて一番乗りに疑いのない旨を甚三郎に断った。すると飛騨守の子息左衛門佐が一揆原と戦って働いているのを甚三郎に「我が子左衛門佐の働きを見よ」として見せたので、甚三郎は「もっともよく見た」として挨拶し、この場で本丸まで乗り取ろうとして互いに立ち別れたという由を聞いた。皆人が評判するには、甚三郎は手早く身軽な武者である。天草丸でも様子が良いという由を聞き、大将にしても士卒にしても良い武者だと評判する者が多かった。

From Amakusa-maru, Matsukura Izu-no-kami, Itakura Mondo-no-shō, Inoue Chikugo-no-kami, Ishigai Jūzō, Baba Saburōzaemon-no-jō, Makino Denzō, and other envoys from various provinces charged in from the third bailey. Hayashi Tamba-no-kami, being assigned to Matsudaira Uemon-no-suke's forces, charged in from Ōeguchi. Matsudaira Jinzaburō had been wounded on New Year's Day and had difficulty standing, so he was in convalescence, but he rode in a palanquin and charged in from the second bailey beside the outer bailey. Meeting Sakakibara Hida-no-kami, who had achieved the first charge, Jinzaburō encountered him in the second bailey, where Sakakibara Hida-no-kami

made a sworn statement asserting without doubt his claim to the first charge, explaining this to Jinzaburō. Then, as Hida-no-kami's son Saemon-no-suke was fighting and performing deeds against the rebels, he showed this to Jinzaburō saying "Look at my son Saemon-no-suke's performance." Jinzaburō replied with courtesy, "Indeed, I have seen it well," and at this place they agreed to capture up to the main bailey and parted from each other. When everyone gave their opinions, Jinzaburō was praised as a quick and agile warrior. They heard that his conduct at Amakusa-maru was also excellent, and many praised him as a fine warrior, whether as a general or as a common soldier.
