　御座候拙者茂若党に申付候而二つ三つ落させ
　申候戌之刻前本丸小屋に火を掛り先陣之足　
　下迄焼来り候得共後勢い詰懸け候故引茂引連
　須大き尓及難儀に候此時右近方火を防ん為誰
　屋らん鑓之先に無し路を掛け差出候處に敵
　頻りに鉄炮打掛右近　四郎家与拾間程焼
　隔り柵を振夜明け方迄守相居申候四郎歟居
　たる家ゟ若き女人共手に手を取組小屋之焼

現代語訳

戦った者で曽我九太夫という者一人だけではなく、多数いた。私も若党に申し付けて二つ三つ（首を）落とさせた。戌の刻（午後8時頃）前に本丸の小屋に火がかかり、先陣の足軽まで焼け来たが、後続の軍勢が詰めかけているため、引くに引けず大変な難儀となった。この時、右近方が火を防ぐために誰かが槍の先に蓑を掛けて差し出したところ、敵がしきりに鉄砲を撃ちかけた。右近四郎の家まで十間程焼け隔たり、柵を振って夜明け方まで守り続けた。四郎がいた家から若い女人たちが手に手を取り組んで小屋の燃える火の中へ飛び込み、焼死した者が多くいた。

【記録】
大村勘介家の記録によると、寅年二月二十七日四つ前（午前10時頃）に肥前衆の持ち口から足軽衆が本丸に攻め込んだため、陣中はすべて攻略した。

原田伊予の覚書によると、二月二十七日、総攻撃の攻め口で有馬左衛門佐殿が兵庫頭に仕寄から攻め込むよう仰せられたところ、伊予が左衛門佐殿に直接申し上げたのは「兵庫頭の仕寄は御人数一人も攻め込ませることができません」ということであった。左衛門佐殿が御馬の口を引き直したため、鍋島殿の仕寄から攻め込まれたということである。

At this time, someone from Ukon's side hung a straw raincoat on the tip of a spear and held it out to prevent the fire, whereupon the enemy fired their muskets incessantly. The fire spread to a distance of about ten ken from Ukon Shirō's house, and they defended by wielding palisades until dawn. From the house where Shirō was stationed, young women joined hands and leaped into the burning flames of the huts, and many died by fire.

According to the records of the Ōmura Kansuke house, on the 27th day of the 2nd month of the Year of the Tiger, before the fourth hour (around 10 AM), ashigaru forces attacked the main bailey from the position held by the Hizen forces, and thus the entire encampment was captured.

According to the memorandum of Harada Iyo, on the 27th day of the 2nd month, during the general assault, Arima Saemon-no-suke ordered Hyōgo-no-kami to attack from his siege works. However, Iyo reported directly to Saemon-no-suke that "not a single man from Hyōgo-no-kami's siege works can be sent to attack." Since Saemon-no-suke redirected his cavalry, the attack was carried out from Nabeshima-dono's siege works.
