　は石垣亦者岸之内急成処二け所有之夫江付
　たる者共城内ゟ或鉄砲石材木茅に火を付け
　投け或は鍋石うす迄も落し手負死人夥敷有
　之也後陣には越中守肥後守扨は伊豆守を始
　又は此手之御横目馬場三郎左衛門披見也手
　負余り夥敷討死多有之故上使之衆何も相談
　有之而人数引上けへくとの処に酉之上刻先
　手長岡佐渡手之人数海手之角ゟ本丸江一番
　に乗入益田弥市右衛門岡本伝十郎続て乗込
　者益田才助也乗口へ才助則火を附け介里同

　放火春るは足軽山内五兵衛平井甚兵衛岩尾
　牧兵衛右衛門斎藤少蔵也又弥市右衛門与一
　度に乗込は歩行小姓都甲多兵衛後藤権右衛
　門池永源太夫也蓮池之上ゟ海手舛形之間迄
　早く乗込者速水市郎兵衛津川四郎右衛門河
　喜多九太夫山田新九郎也其外人数一同に乗
　込本丸数軒放火す東之海手を乗取九曜之旗
　を入焼口に柵を付ると云々
又曰廿七日夜に入本丸江二之丸之下之段ゟ自
　身一番乗春るは有馬左衛門同蔵人乗込旗を

現代語訳

は石垣、または岸の内の急峻な場所二箇所があり、そこに取り付いた者たちに、城内から鉄砲や石、材木、茅に火を付けて投げつけたり、鍋や石、臼までも落として、手負いや死人が非常に多くあった。後陣には越中守、肥後守、さては伊豆守を始めとして、またこの手の御横目馬場三郎左衛門が視察していた。手負いがあまりに多く、討死も多くあったため、上使の衆皆で相談があり、人数を引き上げるべきだということになったところ、酉の上刻に先手長岡佐渡の手の人数が海手の角から本丸へ一番に乗り入れた。益田弥市右衛門、岡本伝十郎が続いて乗り込み、次は益田才助である。乗り口へ才助がすぐに火を付け、これと同じく

放火したのは足軽の山内五兵衛、平井甚兵衛、岩尾牧兵衛右衛門、斎藤少蔵である。また弥市右衛門と一度に乗り込んだのは歩行小姓の都甲多兵衛、後藤権右衛門、池永源太夫である。蓮池の上から海手舛形の間まで早く乗り込んだ者は、速水市郎兵衛、津川四郎右衛門、河喜多九太夫、山田新九郎である。その外の人数も一同に乗り込み、本丸数軒に放火した。東の海手を乗り取り、九曜の旗を入れ、焼け口に柵を付けたという。

また曰く、二十七日夜に入り、本丸へ二の丸の下の段から自身一番乗りしたのは有馬左衛門、同蔵人が乗り込み、旗を

Masuda Yaichizaemon and Okamoto Den'jūrō followed and broke in, then came Masuda Saisuke. Saisuke immediately set fire to the breach point, and similarly

those who set fires were the foot soldiers Yamauchi Gohē, Hirai Jinbē, Iwao Makibē'emon, and Saitō Shōzō. Also, those who broke in at the same time as Yaichizaemon were the walking pages Togō Tahē, Gotō Gon'emon, and Ikenaga Gentayū. Those who quickly broke in from above the lotus pond to the sea-facing square area were Hayamizu Ichirōbē, Tsugawa Shirōzaemon, Kawakita Kyūdayū, and Yamada Shinkurō. The other forces all broke in together and set fire to several buildings in the main bailey. They captured the eastern sea-facing area, planted the nine-star banner, and built palisades at the burned entrance.

It is also said that on the night of the 27th, the first to break into the main bailey by himself from the lower level of the second bailey was Arima Saemon, and Arima Kurando also broke in and planted a banner.
