went out.
It is also said that on the 28th day, when they entered within the palisade of the main compound, Hanemon pierced two stakes of the palisade. One stake was pierced by Tazawa Jingōemon, who was assigned by Soga Tango-no-kami-dono.
It is also said that on the same day at the main compound, Jūkura-dono fulfilled his duty with a spear, and when a Christian thrust at Hanemon's group with a spear, [Hanemon] moved in with his sword, cut down the Christian, and took his head. At this time, he was wounded by being stabbed in the arm with a spear. He presented this head to Jūkura-dono, showing incomparable prowess, but since he was wounded and the bleeding would not stop, he was ordered to return to the hut to recuperate, and it was reported that the details of his performance were communicated to Izumo-no-kami-dono. Since the bleeding from his arm would not stop, he was repeatedly told to return to the hut, so he went back.
It is also said that the banners in the castle were like cotton cloth. Shirōdayū's standard bearer equipment appeared to be silk. Ancient characters seemed to be written on it. The pole was decorated with paintings. Ekaki Uemon said the number of people was 47,000. At the time of the castle's fall, there were reportedly 37,000 people remaining.
According to a separate text, the Mizuno genealogy states: It was decided in consultation that February 28th would be the day of general assault, but on the 27th, fires suddenly appeared, so things did not proceed according to the prior consultation, and the various forces charged as they saw fit. Therefore, Mimasaka-no-kami of the same name also quickly rushed forward, made the first charge into the main compound, and pressed the siege
