尼草有馬原覚書曰二月廿八日早天に本丸石
　垣を登り候得者敵之者共鑓長刀に而投突は堂し
　松明石打申故乗得難く見ゆる處江左近様先
　手十時三弥之助同内匠備／江（口か）其所江参り石

　垣之下に時分を見斗ひ罷在候内に次太夫与野
　村与右衛門与三人一所に石垣の春みゟ登り足
　軽之持た累鉄炮を取石垣を登里なから弐三
　つ立太多免尓打石垣之上塀江取上り候時一揆之
　者共突掛り候を手下に突伏申候次太夫与右
　衛門一度にかせき与右衛門者其侭町平出羽守

島原征伐始末別記によると、松平右衛門佐忠之が二月二十八日本丸の一番乗りを果たした。

尼草有馬原覚書によると、二月二十八日早朝に本丸石垣を登ろうとしたところ、敵どもが槍・長刀で突き刺し、松明・石を投げつけてきたため登ることが困難に見えた。そこへ江左近様の先手十時三弥之助、同じく内匠備がその場所へ参り、石垣の下で時機を見計らって待機していた。その間に次太夫と野村与右衛門と三人一緒に石垣の隙間から登り、足軽の持っていた鉄砲を取って石垣を登りながら二、三発撃ち、多くの敵を撃って石垣の上の塀へ取り上がった時、一揆の者どもが突きかかってきたのを手下で突き伏せた。次太夫と与右衛門が一度に駆け上がり、与右衛門はそのまま町平出羽守様へ付き従っていた。その他、紀伊大納言様の御内のたやの五郎左衛門、大村因幡守殿の御内岩長権右衛門などという人と一緒に戦ったところ、しばらくして後に板倉主水様、石谷十蔵様が石垣の下で
