【右丁】
『大和本草』菊の条下に曰く
冬菊（カンキク） また 寒菊（カンギク）という
ハツミクサ シモミクサ 秋ナシクサ
ノコリクサ ユキミクサ 『和名抄』
そもそも菊には秋冬の別があり、その味に
並菊と苦辛の弁別がある。『本草』に言う。
並菊の花は細かく砕けた品で、甚だ
高くなく、蘂は蜂の巣のようで、中に細かい
種子がある。寒菊は味が並で単調である。これは能く
花に当たって味が並であるゆえに、並菊
であろうか。

In "Yamato Honzō," under the chrysanthemum entry, it says:
Winter chrysanthemum (Kangiku) Also called Cold chrysanthemum (Kangiku)
Hatsumikusa Shimomikusa Akinashikusa
Nokorikusa Yukimikusa "Wamyōshō"
Now, chrysanthemums have distinctions between autumn and winter varieties, and their taste
has distinctions between nami-giku (common chrysanthemum) and bitter-pungent types. The "Honzō" says:
The nami-giku flower is of a finely fragmented variety, not very
tall, with stamens like a bee's nest, and inside there are fine
seeds. The cold chrysanthemum has a mild and simple taste. This is because it
corresponds well to flowers with mild taste, hence it is probably a nami-giku
(common chrysanthemum).
