現代語訳
一 寛文六年、土佐国幡多郡中村領で七月四日・十一日・十五日の三度大雨洪水があり、家二千軒、人死三十七人、牛馬五百七十九頭の被害があった。
同年八月朔日、但馬国蛇山が震動し、幅三間・長さ五十六間割れ、深さは不明。家十九軒が潰れ、人十人余りが死んだ。夜中のことで見えなかったが、蛇が出たのかと言われている。
同年、房州米良浦へ十八間棟で長さ二十八間の家、柱一尺四寸角の家が流れ寄せた。損傷はなく流れ来たりと御勘定所へ注進があった。
同年十二月八日、大坂大火。翌九日四つ時に焼け鎮まる。（火元は傾城町この村なり、順清の糸屋作しか）町家九千九百三十三軒焼失。御城代は青山因幡守殿。
一 寛文六年二月六日、天寿院様御逝去。
同年、山鹿甚五左衛門という浪人が『聖教要録』という書を作り流布させた。公儀より御咎めがあり、右の主である浅野内匠頭へ御預けとなった。
同年、紀州領の山に異様な鳥が出る。これを捕ることは難しく、毒餌を撒いて殺した。山鳥の胸に左の如き字符があった。「揜抬揜抱」（浮説かと言う）
同年、松前へ蝦夷人二百人ばかりが競い来て、松前の人がこれに備え、百人ばかりを討ち取り、頭取の者一人を生け捕った。松前人にも手負いがあった。
同年正月十四日、南都東大寺炎上。二月堂内陣より出火し、本堂焼失。
一 寛文七年、出雲大社御造営出来。
同年六月二十二日、三州岡崎領水野監物殿領知に雷七ヶ所に落ちる。一所に落ちた所の円玉、石のような形で重さ六百七十匁あり。
同年九月、勢州外宮献納の太刀紛失。厳しい御詮議があり、前長官檜垣弥大夫並びに研屋伊兵衛が盗んだ。伊兵衛は逐電し、弥大夫は鳥羽の浦にて捕らえられた。
同年閏二月、本所にて金剛大夫の勧進帳興行があった。諸侯衆の桟敷掛かりで御老中の御見物があった。

Same year, 1st day of 8th month: Mount Hebiyama in Tajima Province experienced seismic activity, creating a fissure 3 ken wide and 56 ken long of unknown depth. Nineteen houses collapsed and over ten people died. Since it occurred at night and was not visible, people wondered if snakes had emerged.
Same year: A house with an 18-ken ridge and 28 ken in length, with pillars of 1 shaku 4 sun square, drifted to Mera Bay in Bōshū Province. It arrived undamaged, and this was reported to the Finance Office.
Same year, 12th month, 8th day: Great fire in Osaka. It was extinguished at the fourth hour on the 9th day. (The fire source was in Keiseichō, this village, at Itoya of Junsei) 9,933 townhouses burned down. The castle governor was Lord Aoyama Inaba-no-kami.
1. Kanbun 6, 2nd month, 6th day: Lady Tenjuin passed away.
Same year: A rōnin named Yamaga Jinzaemon created and circulated a book called "Seikyō Yōroku" (Essentials of Sacred Teachings). The government took issue with this, and he was placed under the custody of his lord, Asano Takumi-no-kami.
Same year: Strange birds appeared in the mountains of Kishū domain. They were difficult to capture, so poison bait was scattered to kill them. The mountain birds had characters like the following on their chests: "揜抬揜抱" (said to be possibly a floating rumor).
Same year: About 200 Ainu people came attacking Matsumae. The Matsumae people prepared defenses and killed about 100 of them, capturing one leader alive. There were also casualties among the Matsumae people.

Same year, 9th month: A sword dedicated to the Outer Shrine in Ise Province went missing. There was a strict investigation, and it was found that former chief official Higaki Yadayū and sword polisher Ihei had stolen it. Ihei fled, and Yadayū was captured at Toba Bay.
Same year, intercalary 2nd month: Kongō Dayū performed a benefit performance of "Kanjinchō" at Honjo. Various lords had box seats, and the Senior Councilors attended as spectators.
