同年【五月】軍法者の牢人(篠崎新之丞・石川長兵衛)両人は元堀美作守殿の家来で、今は牢人として麻布に罷り在る。新之丞の宅にて両人が口論に及び、長兵衛が新之丞を切り殺して立ち退いたところを、新之丞の弟子渡部七之丞(十八歳になる)が追いかけ、長兵衛をその場で切り留めた。新之丞は小幡勘兵衛の孫弟子で軍法者にて、また細工の名人で、武者人形二千余体や軍器の品々を随分丁寧に拵え置いていた。
同年八【九】月、長崎へオランダ船五艘、唐船十九艘が入津し、糸・単物・巻物・菜種を大分渡来させた。
同年九月、細川越中守殿領内の肥州益城郡仏原村・四方野村・安永村・高月村の百姓が、仏原村の庄兵衛という者の方へ集まり、悪事を企み虚説を仕掛けたことにより、斬首・獄門、男子の分は斬罪、女子は奴子に仰せ付けられた。
一 延宝三年卯六月頃の注進で、八丈島より巽の方に島があり、人は住まず珍しい樹木・鳥類等があるという。先年紀州の商船が彼の島に漂着して見及んで告げたことにより、去年五月に唐船造りの船を仕立てて彼の島に渡り、この日帰帆して彼の島の珍物共を取り帰って差し上げた。
同年四月、浅野又市殿へ御預けのところ、今度御免になった山鹿甚五左衛門。
同年五【九】月、安芸国で洪水があった。同年諸国で飢饉があり、大和吉野近郷の飢人一万八千六百人に御救米が下され、一日(男三合・女二合)、御代官所の御蔵米が出された。摂河両州の飢人三万六百人にも右同断で御救米が下された。
同年十一月二十五日、京都大火。油小路一条下る町より出火し、禁裏仮御殿・新院仮御殿・本院御所・近衛殿・八条殿、その外公家衆・町方共に大分焼けた。
同年十二月、保科肥後守殿(この時筑前守なり)より、一 会津風土記(全)一冊、一 同神社志一冊、一 玉講附録一冊、一 二程治教録一冊、一 伊洛三子伝心録一冊、右書物の献上があった。
同年六月二日、石州津和野亀井能登守殿領分で大地震があり、本丸・二丸・三丸・家中・町・在々がことごとく潰れ崩れ、死亡が甚だ多く、長州境まで八里程が右の如くであった。
同年夏秋の内、備州・河州・泉州・江州・和州・播州・芸州の国々で洪水による損毛があった。

Same year [5th month]: Military strategists and masterless samurai (Shinozaki Shinnosuke and Ishikawa Chobei) - both men were formerly retainers of Lord Hori Mimasaka-no-kami and now live as ronin in Azabu. At Shinnosuke's residence, the two men quarreled, and Chobei killed Shinnosuke and fled. Shinnosuke's disciple Watanabe Shichinosuke (18 years old) pursued and killed Chobei on the spot. Shinnosuke was a grand-disciple of Obata Kanbei, a military strategist and master craftsman who had carefully made over 2,000 warrior dolls and various military implements.
Same year, 8th [9th] month: Five Dutch ships and nineteen Chinese ships entered Nagasaki port, bringing large quantities of silk thread, cotton goods, scrolls, and rapeseed.
Same year, 9th month: In Lord Hosokawa Etchū-no-kami's domain in Higo Province, Mashiki District, peasants from Butsubara Village, Shimōno Village, Yasunaga Village, and Takatsuki Village gathered at the home of one Shobei from Butsubara Village and plotted evil deeds and spread false rumors. As punishment, they were sentenced to beheading and gibbet, males to execution, and females to slavery.
1. Enpo 3 (1675), Rabbit year, around 6th month: A report stated that southeast of Hachijojima there was an uninhabited island with rare trees and birds. Since a Kishu merchant ship had previously drifted to this island and reported on it, last year in the 5th month a Chinese-style ship was prepared, sailed to the island, and returned this day, bringing back rare items from the island to present.
