○同年十二月 酒井日向守殿へ申し渡し
今度河内守が逼塞したことにつき、当地へ来て遠慮すべきかと伺いを立てるところ、そのような
儀は無用。居城で逼塞した段は不届きに思し召される。その上常々の行跡が良くなく、併せて家来・領
知の仕置きが良くない旨をお聞き及びになっている。これにより領知を召し上げられ井伊掃部頭へ御預けになった。
息子万千代も松平伊豆守へ御預けになった旨。

○同年九月 脇坂中務少輔殿の息子市正殿を酒井靱負佐殿へ御預けとなった。右は中務
少輔殿の息子市正殿が先年病気につき公儀へ御断りを申し上げ、次男淡路守殿を惣領に
願い出て済み、市正殿はその砌から下屋敷へ引き込んでいた。然るところ頃日市正殿が家来五六人を
召し連れ下屋敷を忍び出て夜中井伊掃部頭殿へ参り、表門にて案内をして掃部頭
殿へ申し談じることがあって来たので通すようにと申したところ、番人が申すには夜中はどちらから参っても
門内へ入る儀は成らない家法であるので、掃部頭へ申し聞く義も罷り成らないと申したにつき

Regarding Kawachi-no-kami's recent house confinement, he inquired whether he should come to the capital and show restraint, but there was no
need for such ceremony. His confinement in his own castle was considered improper conduct. Moreover, his usual behavior has been poor, and additionally his retainers' and domain
administration has been poor, as has come to [the Shogun's] attention. Therefore his domain was confiscated and he was placed under the custody of Ii Kamon-no-kami.
His son Manchiyo was also placed under the custody of Matsudaira Izu-no-kami.

○Same year, 9th month: Ichimasa, son of Lord Wakisaka Nakatsukasa-shōyū, was placed under the custody of Lord Sakai Yuge-no-suke. This was because Ichimasa, son of Nakatsukasa-
shōyū, had reported his illness to the government authorities in previous years, successfully petitioned for his second son Awaji-no-kami to become heir,
and Ichimasa had withdrawn to the lower residence since that time. However, recently Ichimasa took along five or six retainers,
secretly left the lower residence, and went to Lord Ii Kamon-no-kami's residence at night, requesting entrance at the main gate, saying he had business to discuss with Kamon-no-
kami and asking to be admitted. The guards replied that it was against house rules for anyone to enter the gate at night, regardless of who they were,
so they could not even convey the message to Kamon-no-kami, whereupon
