現代語訳
惣左衛門殿と申す仁と諸事申し合わせて勤め申したところ、これにより御刀を拝領いたした。
一、十五代目追風に至り、朝廷御相撲の節会も自然と御中絶になった。二条殿御家には相撲について御懇意の筋目があるので、他へ出仕したいと相願いしたところ、願いの通り叶い、万治元年より当家へ相勤め申している。
一、元禄年中、常憲院様が牧野備後守殿へなされた節に相撲上覧があった砌、彼方の御家来鈴木源右衛門と申す仁より入門の御頼みがあり、将軍家上覧の式一通りを相伝し、品々拝領物をした。
一、元祖より私まで都合十九代、前文の通り禁裏その外の御方々より追々拝領の品を今以て持ち伝え、相撲故実を伝授してきている。
一、当時諸国の行事並びに力士共は免許を私の家より代々差し出してきている。

He coordinated various matters with a person called Sōzaemon-dono and performed his duties, and for this he received the honor of a sword.
1. By the time of the 15th generation Oikaze, the imperial court's sumo ceremonies had naturally been suspended. Since the Nijō house had close connections regarding sumo, when he petitioned to serve elsewhere, his request was granted, and from Manji 1 he has been serving the current house.
1. During the Genroku era, when Jōken'in-sama [Tokugawa Tsunayoshi] appointed Makino Bingo-no-kami-dono, there was a sumo viewing, and at that time a person called Suzuki Gen'emon from that house's retainers requested admission as a disciple. He transmitted the complete ceremony for the Shogun's viewing and received various gifts.
1. From the founder to myself, a total of nineteen generations, as written above, we have continuously received gifts from the Forbidden Palace and other honorable parties, and continue to maintain and transmit the traditional practices of sumo.
1. Currently, referees and wrestlers from all provinces receive licenses issued by my house through the generations.

When the above spring sumo was held within the precincts of Ekōin temple in Honjo, Town Magistrate Ikeda Chikugo-no-kami-dono sent an official notice that the promoter and assistant should appear, so Kiheiji and Muraemon promptly appeared.
