一筆申し上げます。
太守様におかれましては、近年琉球に異国船がしばしば来航し、容易ならざる時勢でありますため、当年正月中旬にお暇をいただき、
少将様におかれましては、江戸城にご到着の上、参府をなされたいとのご願いの通りにお命じになられましたところ、正月十三日に上使をもってお暇をお与えになり、ご先例の通り右大将様からの拝領物も上使をもってお与えになり、同十五日に登城してお礼を申し上げ、懇ろなるご上意を蒙り、お馬を拝領されましたこと、承知いたし誠に恐悦に存じ奉ります。
この度のお祝いの言葉を太守様に申し上げたく、貴公様方までこの拙い手紙を差し上げます次第でございます。誠惶誠恐謹言。

I humbly write to you.
Regarding the Lord (Taishū-sama), in recent years foreign ships have frequently come to Ryukyu, and due to these difficult times, he granted leave in the middle of this past first month.
As for the Shōshō-sama, upon his arrival at Edo Castle and his desire to perform sanpū (official attendance), as per his wish, it was commanded. On the 13th day of the first month, through an imperial messenger, leave was granted, and following precedent, gifts were bestowed from Udaishō-sama through an imperial messenger. On the 15th day, he attended the castle to express his gratitude, received gracious imperial favor, and was granted a horse. I have been informed of this and am truly filled with joy and reverence.
I wish to offer congratulatory words to Taishū-sama, and thus I present this humble letter to your honorable selves. With utmost reverence and fear, respectfully written.
