現代語訳
通り天が持っていることを池水に浮かべると、一つの舞台と変じた。山は砂鉢、座敷切り、落とし、切幕の括りを現し、松風は舞台役者の声を発し、その他、中繰りの行き交う有様。高慢も久しぶりの太夫桟敷。「こういうことを知ったら、うちの織瀬を連れて来ればよかった」とは、ちょっと厚かましい。
高慢：
「柱のこちらに寄りかかっているのは、松が根屋のここの人ではないか」
通り天：
「向こうの五軒続きは御主殿と見える」
落とし：
「松風よ〜」

英語訳
When Tori-ten floated what he had in the pond water, it transformed into a theater stage. The mountain became a sand bowl, the reserved seating area, the cheap front seats, and the entrance curtain ties were revealed. The pine wind gave voice like stage actors, and other scenes showed the comings and goings of the intermission. Kouman too found himself in a premium box seat after a long time. "If I had known about this, I should have brought my Orise from home," he thought, though that was rather presumptuous.
Kouman:
"Isn't that person leaning against this side of the pillar from the Matsugane-ya here?"
Tori-ten:
"Those five connected buildings over there appear to be the lord's residence."
