腰元の手管は、軽口無駄之助に人の決まりで、得意技の手管で口説く。
【右丁中段 右端】
「これ、この袱紗にもお前の筆跡、夜藤刺しにも手紙などと、年月親しい伝の台詞で戯れる」
【右丁 上段中ほど】
「また人を嬉しがらせるのか。そんなことを真に受けてはならない」
【左丁】
やっと無造作平目は、無駄之助が借り物の黒装束の御衣を盗み、「大願成就」と半分言わないうちに、同じ格好の盗賊がその御衣を奪い、何処ともなく逃げ失せた。これもよくある奴さ。

「ああ、当て身を食らった。しかし抜き身よりはましだった」
