綱吉公征夷
一 天和弐年壬戊四月十日堀田伊豆守殿
御城ゟ御手紙御用之儀御座候間只今登
城仕候様にと被仰下則罷出候明日琉球人御礼
仕御馬壱疋致献上候文九郎文右衛門罷出
御前え牽立可被入 上覧候御礼申上候砌御
目付衆ゟ左右被致候様被仰渡候夫次第牽
出尤に候御馬は中仕切之辺に而受取可然候御馬乗
御口之者相添出置為受取候得と被仰渡候
一 翌日十一日辰刻御馬乗弐人御口之者三人御馬飼
二人召連文九郎文右衛門御城え罷出候琉球
人巳上刻登城御馬は百人組御番所之前に而
右之者共為受取申候御玄関前平路御門之内え
入置申候御目付衆ゟ左右有之御馬為
牽於御舞台之前に牽立置申 出御之節
文九郎文右衛門牽立御馬乗者御馬之跡に平
伏仕琉球人御礼相済罷在候時御馬下ヶ置

綱吉公征夷大将軍時代
一 天和二年壬戌四月十日、堀田伊豆守殿から「御城より御用の儀がございますので、只今登城仕るように」とのお達しがあり、則ち参上いたしました。明日琉球人がお礼を申し上げ、御馬一匹を献上いたします。文九郎・文右衛門が参上し、御前へ牽き立てて上覧に入れ、お礼を申し上げる折に、御目付衆からの合図があるよう仰せ渡されました。その次第で牽き出すのが最もでございます。御馬は中仕切りの辺りで受け取るのが然るべきです。御馬乗・御口の者を相添えて出しておき、受け取らせよと仰せ渡されました。
一 翌日十一日辰の刻、御馬乗二人・御口の者三人・御馬飼二人を召し連れ、文九郎・文右衛門が御城へ参上いたしました。琉球人は巳上刻に登城し、御馬は百人組御番所の前にて右の者どもに受け取らせ申しました。御玄関前平路御門の内へ入れ置き申しました。御目付衆からの合図があり、御馬を牽いて御舞台の前に牽き立て置き申しました。出御の節、文九郎・文右衛門が牽き立て、御馬乗者は御馬の跡に平伏いたし、琉球人のお礼が相済み罷在する時、御馬を下がらせ置き

During the time of Lord Tsunayoshi as Shogun
1. On the 10th day of the 4th month of Tenna 2 (1682), Lord Hotta Izunokami sent word: "There is official business from the castle, so you should ascend to the castle immediately." I then proceeded there. Tomorrow the Ryukyu people will offer their respects and present one horse as tribute. Bunkurō and Bunemon will appear and lead the horse before His Presence for inspection. When offering respects, the metsuke (inspectors) will give signals as instructed. It is most proper to lead the horse out accordingly. The horse should be received in the area near the partition. Horse handlers and attendants should be stationed there to receive it, as instructed.
1. The next day, the 11th, at the hour of the Dragon (7-9 AM), two horse handlers, three attendants, and two grooms were summoned, and Bunkurō and Bunemon proceeded to the castle. The Ryukyu people ascended to the castle at the late hour of the Snake (around 11 AM). The horse was received by the aforementioned men in front of the Hyakunin-gumi guard post. It was placed inside Hiraji-gomon in front of the main entrance. Upon signal from the metsuke, the horse was led and positioned in front of the stage area. During the appearance ceremony, Bunkurō and Bunemon led the horse, the horse handler prostrated behind the horse, and when the Ryukyu people's respects were completed and they remained present, the horse was withdrawn and placed aside.
