一 テリアカは疫病の熱を退け、諸々の毒を解し、汗を発する薬であって、疱瘡の薬ではない。今の人は誰に習ってこれを疱瘡に用いるのか疑わしい。
一 古人が蝮の鼻を疱瘡に用いた例はない。今の医者は妄りに薬の中に加え入れる。もし誤って脾胃虚燥熱の症に用いれば、たちまち煩躁し悶乱して死ぬ。
一 塩引き鮭を食べれば良く疱瘡を発疹させるという人がいるが、毒を助け痒みを発する。甚だ悪い。
一 疱瘡の腫れ上がりが遅い時に臍の緒を煎じて用いることは古書にも見える。毒が軽く虚弱な症には小さな効果があるけれども、熱毒の症に用いればかえって毒を助け痒みを発する。
