一 潅膿（ほんうみ）収靨（かせ）の頃（ころ）俄（にはか）に渇（かはき）出（いで）頻（しきり）に湯水（ゆみづ）を好（このむ）あり此時（このとき）乳（ち）薬（くすり）の外（ほか）決（け▢）

外へ散り疱瘡毒が内攻する。
一 膿が満ちて痂皮（かさぶた）ができる頃、急に喉の渇きが出て頻繁に湯水を欲しがることがある。この時は母乳や薬以外は決して飲ませてはならない。むやみに飲ませると脾胃を損じて下痢し、内攻して死ぬ。
一 疱瘡後の眼病は平常の眼病と違うので、早く良医を頼むべきである。これを眼科に任せ、むやみに点眼薬や水薬、あるいは寒涼の剤を用いて死亡を招き、または失明となる者がある。心得ておくべきである。
一 白湯で蒸すことは十二日目に限るべきではない。疱瘡の軽重や痂皮の取れる遅速による。もし早すぎれば毒が内攻して変症が起こる。重い疱瘡は特に見合わせるべきである。ただし神棚を立て酒湯の儀式は勝手次第で良い。
