一未半刻過御奉行弁殿雑掌中ゟ一社惣代御召之旨申来仍
即刻惣代息久兼茂出頭戌半刻過帰郷演説御奉行へ参上
之処宣旨使明後廿五日内覧可参間万事気を付可遣
名前等明日書付可被相渡委細は伝奏ニ而可被申渡旨也
夫ゟ御伝奏へ参上宣旨使之儀申入処御留守故尚明日委細可
申上旨申置退出云々

現代語訳
一、朝食後、西御役所へ木作始めの日時が申し付けられた旨の届書を持参するため、惣代の息久兼が出頭し、未半刻過ぎに帰郷して報告した。西御役所へ出頭し、来る二月四日に木造始めが御所表から申し付けられた旨のお届け書一通を差し出したところ、真野八郎兵衛、吉浜佐七郎が応対し受け取った等々。
二十三日 晴れ、夜に入って雨が降る
一、未半刻過ぎ、御奉行弁殿の雑掌中より一社惣代にお召しの旨を申してきたので、即刻惣代の息久兼も出頭し、戌半刻過ぎに帰郷して報告した。御奉行へ参上したところ、宣旨使が明後日二十五日に内覧で参向する間、万事に気を付けて対応すべし、名前等は明日書付で相渡すが、委細については伝奏で申し渡すとの趣旨であった。
それから御伝奏へ参上し、宣旨使の件を申し入れたところ、ご留守のため、猶明日委細を申し上げる旨を申し置いて退出した等々。
二十四日 曇り
一、朝食後、惣代の息久兼も出頭し、午の刻頃に帰郷して報告した。御伝奏へ参上し、宣旨使の件をお伺いしたところ、大膳も詰め合わせがないため、御奉行へ参上してお伺いしたところ、来る二十七日の木作始めの日時に宣旨を持参して参向する使者について書付をもって申し渡された。
刻限の件については、下鴨から上賀茂へ参向するため刻限が分からないとおっしゃった趣旨である。

1. After breakfast, representative Sokukyū-kane departed to bring the notification document to the West Administrative Office regarding the designated date and time for the wood construction commencement, and returned home after mi-han (around 2:30 PM) to report. Upon appearing at the West Administrative Office, he submitted one notification document stating that wood construction commencement on the coming 2nd month, 4th day had been designated from the Imperial Palace, whereupon Mano Hachirōbei and Yoshihama Sachirō met with him and received it, etc.
23rd day: Clear, rain falling after nightfall
1. After mi-han (around 2:30 PM), word came from the magistrate Ben-dono's administrative staff summoning the shrine representatives, so immediately representative Sokukyū-kane also departed and returned home after inu-han (around 8:30 PM) to report. Upon appearing before the magistrate, [he was told] that the imperial edict messenger would come for an audience the day after tomorrow, the 25th, and that all matters should be handled with careful attention. The names would be given in writing tomorrow, and details would be conveyed through the imperial messenger.
From there he went to the imperial messenger, and when he mentioned the matter of the imperial edict messenger, [the messenger] was absent, so he left word that he would report the details tomorrow and withdrew, etc.
24th day: Cloudy
1. After breakfast, representative Sokukyū-kane also departed and returned home around the uma hour (noon) to report. Upon going to the imperial messenger to inquire about the imperial edict messenger matter, since the Daizen [official] was also not available for consultation, he went to the magistrate to inquire, whereupon he was given written instructions about the messenger who would come bearing the imperial edict for the wood construction commencement date and time on the coming 27th.
Regarding the time schedule, since [the messenger] would proceed from Shimogamo to Kamigamo, the exact timing was unknown, he said.
The copy of the written instructions is as follows:
