短冊の雲形は、おおよそ青雲紙を上に用いるものである。また紫を上にすることも、時々あるべきものと、幽斎聞書に見えている。

女性の短冊に書く時は、名前を短冊の裏に書くのである。
色紙の寸法は、決まったことがない。家々によって変わるものである。
おおよそ大色紙は縦六寸四分、横五寸五分に書く。

Generally, large shikishi are written with dimensions of six sun four bu vertically and five sun five bu horizontally.
