三従道（さんしやうのみち）
をんな（女）は。さん（三）しやう（従）の みち（道）とて。いとけ（幼）なきときは。ちゝはゝ（父母）
に したが（従）ひ。すでに とつき（嫁）ぬれば。をうと（夫）に したが（従）ひ。おい（老）ては
こ（子）に したが（従）ふとなん。ちゝはゝ（父母）は あめつち（天地）にもならぶなめる。
おほ（大）ひなる いつくし（慈愛）みを。かりにも わする（忘）ゝべきかは。されば よ（世）に

作られた物語や草紙などという、戯れた書物を多く読み、それよりさらに下品なものになると、年ごとに数々作り出される浄瑠璃や小歌などというものを好んで、春の日の長いのも忘れ、冬の夜が深く更けるのも知らずに、もてあそぶ者が多い。年ごとに出版される巻物をすべて心にとどめて、その出来栄えの優劣などを語り合って楽しむ。ある者は狂気に陥ってこれを歌うなど、見るのも憂わしい習慣である。おおかた戯れや乱れた行い、好色な筋を書き連ねているので、見るにしたがって志を乱し、心を蕩かすもととなるのは当然であろう。これらは童女が手に取って遊ぶべきものではない。そうは言っても中国の書物を易々と読めるわけでもないので、日本語で書かれた
