又 故郷（くにもと）の書牘（てがみ）をよませにや来（きた）る。 下漢（おしな）
何（なに）事なるやと起身（おきなほ）るに彼（かれ）が曰（いはく）。ちと承（うけ給は）り
たき子細（しさい）あれば。 竈下（かまもと）を終（しまふ）や否（いな）。 即便（そんま）
参（まい）つたり。 先生（せんせい）に伺（うかゞ）ふ事 余（よ）の儀（ぎ）にあらず。
頃日（このごろ）世間（せけん）に行（おこな）はるゝ病名（べうめい）をハシカといふ
もの七人あれば。アシカといふ人（ひと）三ン人あり
いづれ歟 是（ぜ）なるや。いづれか非（ひ）なりや。 同僚（ほうばひ）
子弟（どうし）の争論昼夜（そうろんちうや）にやまず。 負業（まけわざ）を
贖（あがな）ふに。 大福餅（だいふくもち）を以（もつ）てし。 二合半酒（こなからざけ）を

の方銀三片（ほうぎんさんぺん）これが為（ため）に危（あやう）し。 先生（せんせい）

礼儀もへちまもかまわず、つかつかと入ってくると、
また故郷からの手紙を読ませに来たのか。下男よ、
