【右丁】　
竃（かまど）のやけ土白水等は土をかたくして
　あしく叉斑入等に鳩（はと）の糞（ふん）もちゆとあれ
　どもいまだつまびらかならず
　　　　〇大輪仕様（たいりんしやう）
　土五合入鉢によく屎土を入たね四五りうを
　真中へまき程よきを残して其余を
　去（さ）り莟（つぼミ）あらハるゝ節壱升ほど入鉢にこへ
　土に干鰯（ほしか）等をまじへ鉢の底（そこ）にしきその

　所へ其　侭（まゝ）にうつし外を右の屎土の
　砂がちなるをやわらかに入扨其鉢を土の
　中にうづむる又ハ三升ばかり入鉢等に
　うづむべし花三りん又四りんつけて
　其余の芽出次第（めいでしだい）にとり前日夕方に
　つぼミ臺（だい）より末（すへ）にいたり二寸六分あれバ
　翌（よく）日四寸　経（わた）りの花ひらくとしるべし
　葉小にして花大なるを好（よし）とす

現代語訳

【右丁】
竃の焼け土や白水等は土を硬くして
良くない。また斑入り等に鳩の糞を用いるとあるが、
まだはっきりしない。
　　　　〇大輪の作り方
土五合入りの鉢によく肥料土を入れ、種を四、五粒
中央に蒔き、程よいものを残してその余を
取り除く。蕾が現れる頃、一升ほど入る鉢に肥料
土に干鰯等を混ぜて鉢の底に敷き、その

所へそのまま移し、外側を右の肥料土の
砂がちなものを柔らかに入れる。そしてその鉢を土の
中に埋める。または三升ばかり入る鉢等に
埋めるべきである。花を三輪または四輪つけて
その余の芽は出次第に取る。前日夕方に
蕾の台から末まで二寸六分あれば
翌日四寸径の花が開くと知るべきである。
葉が小さくして花が大きなるを良しとする。

In a pot holding five go of soil, add fertilizer soil well, sow four or five seeds
in the center, keep the good ones and
remove the rest. When buds appear, in a pot holding about one sho, mix fertilizer
soil with dried sardines etc. and spread on the bottom of the pot, then

transplant it there as is, and gently fill the outside with the aforementioned fertilizer soil
that is rather sandy. Then bury that pot in the
soil, or it should be buried in a pot holding about three sho.
Allow three or four flowers to bloom and
remove other buds as they appear. In the evening of the previous day, if
the bud measures two sun and six bu from base to tip,
you should know that a flower four sun in diameter will open the next day.
Small leaves with large flowers are considered best.
