　薄く赤し絞（しぼ）る花又ハかする花ハ柚も又
　かくのごとしほしなれバほしなり地浅黄
　にるりのかすりあるは柚も又地色あつて
　かすりありしかし日立てはしれがたし
　又黒柚にて白き花桔梗咲の類あれバ一

現代語訳

【右丁】
　薄く赤い。絞り模様の花または掠れ模様の花は軸もまた
　そのようである。星模様であれば星模様となり、地が浅黄色で
　瑠璃色の掠れがあるものは軸もまた地色があって
　掠れがある。しかし日が経てば分かりにくい。
　また黒い軸で白い花、桔梗咲きの類があれば一
　概ではないが、種が混じったものに頼るためであろう。
　そのために葉で花の形の違いを見る方法を
　左に記すのである。

　子　　　　寅　　桜咲きの方は子丑の間が狭く
　　　二　　三
　丑　　　　卯　　寅卯とも細くして二三の間は
　七分、一二の間は三分である。髭咲きは周りを大きくし
　て子丑より寅卯の方が狭いことがある。二三が狭くして
　三分切りである。孔雀咲きは髭咲きの葉に似
　て三の開きが平たい。子丑より寅卯が開く。
　縮みまたは龍胆咲きは子丑より寅卯が狭い。二三の
　間は五分である。その他、普通の葉によるものは子丑より

　kasuri patterns. However, as days pass, it becomes difficult to distinguish.
　Also, there are types with black stems and white flowers, bellflower-type blooms, so it's not
　uniform, but this is probably due to relying on mixed seeds.
