○酒（さけ）は「きんぶ」《割書：俗語｜なり》といふ。琉球国（りうきうこく）の属嶋（えだしま）太平山（だひんざん）より
出（いづ）るを「だひんしう」《割書：太平｜酒》といふ。紅酒（こうしゆ）あり《割書：いろ朱のごとくあか｜くして清く神に》
《割書：たてまつる｜に用う？》八重山（やえやま）より出（いづ）るものを「みりんしう」《割書：密林｜酒》といふ。
上噶剌（かんむら）より出（いづ）るを「あわきぼ」《割書：粟｜酒》といふ。薩州（さつしう）にて
砂糖（さとう）あわもりといふもの是（これ）なり。右（みぎ）いつれも焼酎（せうちう）
にして。此方のごとき酒はかつてなし。
○金銀（きん〴〵）のたぐひ少（すくな）し。通用（つうよう）は此方より渡（わた）る豆銀（まめぎん）
を専（もは）ら用ゆ。銭（ぜに）は寛永通宝（くわんえいつうはう）なり。豆銭（まめぜに）といふ
ものは。彼国（かのくに）にて鋳（ゐ）るところにて。文字（もじ）も模様（もやう）も
なし。輪（わ）もなし。又（また）花（はな）の形（かた）ある物（もの）も有（あり）。

現代語訳
その次を「びくらばう」、その次を「ばるさめ」、また下品なものを「ぶくべる」という（こちらでいう夜鷹などというものである）。
○酒は「きんぶ」（俗語である）という。琉球国の属島太平山より出るものを「だひんしう」（太平酒）という。紅酒があり（色が朱のように赤くて清く、神に奉るのに用いる）、八重山より出るものを「みりんしう」（密林酒）という。上嘉例より出るものを「あわきぼ」（粟酒）という。薩摩で砂糖泡盛というものがこれである。右いずれも焼酎であって、こちらのような酒は全くない。
○金銀の類は少ない。通用するのはこちらから渡る豆銀を専ら用いる。銭は寛永通宝である。豆銭というものは、かの国で鋳造するところのもので、文字も模様もない。輪もない。また花の形をしたものもある。
○かの国の「ぎんとくり」という器がある。銭を入れるもので、形は豆のようである。

The next [rank] is called "bikurabou," the next is "barusame," and the lower class ones are called "bukuberu" (these are like what we call "yotaka" [streetwalkers] here).
○Alcohol is called "kinbu" (this is colloquial language). What comes from Taiheizan, a tributary island of the Ryukyu Kingdom, is called "dahinshu" (Taihei sake). There is red sake (colored red like cinnabar and clear, used for offerings to gods), and what comes from Yaeyama is called "mirinshu" (jungle sake). What comes from Kami-karei is called "awakibo" (millet sake). What is called "sugar awamori" in Satsuma is this. All of these are shochu (distilled spirits), and there is no sake like ours at all.
○Gold and silver are scarce. For currency, they mainly use small silver coins that come from our country. The coins are Kan'ei Tsuho. What are called "small coins" are cast in that country and have no characters or patterns. They have no rim either. There are also some in the shape of flowers.
○There is a vessel from that country called "gintokuri." It is for holding coins and is shaped like a bean.
