切支丹蜂起覚書載
　　一筆今啓上候有馬表に付置候者之方ゟ飛
　　脚到来仕候間江戸へ言上之書状御目付衆文
　　箱に入遣申候
　一彼之地別条も無御座候仕寄之者等不参候間
　　上使衆御迷惑か里候由次に去る廿日之朝取懸り
　　候刻諸勢競申候はゝ乗捕可申物をと下々風聞
　　之由申越候
　一兵粮高直不自由に御座候而諸勢事つまり申
　　様に相見へ申候由申越候事

　一毎日火矢仕掛候得共城中甲斐へ處打消申候
　　故に所詮焼ふ申由申越候事
　一細川越中殿かこ以舩廿艘斗参毎日舩ゟも
　　大筒内申候是には少痛申様に相見へ大筒内掛
　　申候刻は城中之者共さ已き申由山手ゟ打申
　　鉄炮は多分高越候而城之かこ以へ当不申由

　一津守幷隣国別条無御座候右之通周防殿

切支丹蜂起覚書載

一筆啓上いたします。有馬表に配置しております者の方から飛脚が到着いたしましたので、江戸へ言上の書状を御目付衆の文箱に入れて送らせていただきます。

一、かの地は別に変わったこともございませんが、仕寄（攻城）の者等が参らないため、上使衆がお困りになっているとのことです。次に、去る二十日の朝に攻撃を仕掛けた時刻に、諸勢が競って攻めれば乗り捕ることができるものをと、下々の風聞として申してきております。

一、兵糧が高値で不自由しており、諸勢の事情が苦しい様子に見えると申してきております。

一、毎日火矢を仕掛けておりますが、城中で甲斐甲斐しく消火しているため、結局焼くことができないと申してきております。

一、細川越中殿が囲いのために船二十艘ほどで参り、毎日船からも大筒を撃っております。これには少し痛手を与えている様子で、大筒を撃ちかける時は城中の者共が騒ぐと申しています。山手から撃つ鉄砲は多分高く越えてしまい、城の囲いには当たらないと申してきております。

一、津守並びに隣国には別条ございません。右の通り周防殿、信濃殿へ江戸へのご伝言を申すよう、ご次第にお願い申し上げます。

I respectfully write to you. A messenger has arrived from our personnel stationed at Arima, so I am sending a letter of report to Edo in the document box of the inspectors (metsuke).

First, there are no particular incidents in that area, but since the siege engineers have not arrived, the imperial envoys are said to be troubled. Next, regarding the time when the attack was launched on the morning of the 20th, there are rumors among the lower ranks saying that if all forces had competed in the assault, they could have captured the fortress.

First, provisions are expensive and in short supply, and the various forces appear to be in difficult circumstances.

First, although fire arrows are deployed daily, the defenders in the castle diligently extinguish them, so ultimately they cannot set it ablaze.

First, Lord Hosokawa Echizen has arrived with about twenty ships for the siege, and cannons are fired from the ships daily. This seems to inflict some damage, and when the cannons are fired, the people in the castle are said to become agitated. The muskets fired from the mountainside mostly overshoot and do not hit the castle's defenses.

First, there are no incidents in Tsumori or neighboring provinces. As stated above, I humbly request that this message be conveyed to Lords Suou and Shinano for transmission to Edo.
