　　昨廿六日以書状申入候定而参着可致与存候
　一島原表織部附置候者方ゟ今日も注進申越候
　　昨日申入候通相替儀も無御座候細川越中守

　　殿かこ以舩廿艘斗被出舩手ゟ大筒本丸へ打
　　被申候由に候
　一牧野伝蔵林丹波幷有馬玄蕃家老有馬
　　内蔵介方ゟ去る廿日島原表之儀被申越候是
　　又右同意に御座候諸勢つゝき候は乗込可申物を
　　と諸人取沙汰之由風聞承候残多仕合に御座候
　一松平甚三郎方ゟ我等所へ書中かの地兵粮不自
　　由に相見へ寄衆迷惑か里申様に申来る候右之外
　　別に相替義も不承候此状箱江戸へ被差越可被
　　下候

また記載いたします

昨日二十六日に書状をもって申し入れましたが、定めて到着していることと存じます。

一、島原表に織部が配置しております者の方から今日も注進を申してまいりました。昨日申し入れました通り、変わった事もございません。細川越中守殿が囲いのために船二十艘ほどを出され、船手から大筒を本丸へ撃たせておられるとのことです。

一、牧野伝蔵、林丹波並びに有馬玄蕃の家老有馬内蔵介の方から、去る二十日の島原表の件について申してまいりましたが、これもまた右と同じ内容でございます。諸勢が続けて攻撃すれば乗り込むことができるものをと、諸人が取り沙汰しているとの風聞を承っております。残念な次第でございます。

一、松平甚三郎の方から私どものところへ書中で、かの地は兵糧が不自由に見え、寄衆が迷惑がっている様子だと申してまいりました。右の他に特に変わったことは承っておりません。この書状を箱に入れて江戸へお送りくださいますよう。

I sent a letter yesterday on the 26th, which should have arrived by now.

First, today again I received a report from the personnel that Oribe has stationed at Shimabara. As reported yesterday, there are no significant changes. Lord Hosokawa Echizen-no-kami has deployed about twenty ships for the siege and is having cannons fired at the main keep from the naval forces.

First, regarding the Shimabara situation on the 20th, reports came from Makino Denzo, Hayashi Tamba, and Arima Kuranoske (retainer of Arima Genba). These reports also contain the same information as mentioned above. I have heard rumors that people are discussing how they could storm the castle if all forces coordinated their attacks. This is indeed a regrettable situation.

First, Matsudaira Jinzaburo sent word to us that provisions appear to be in short supply in that area, and the besieging forces seem to be in distress. Apart from the above, I have not heard of any other significant developments. Please send this letter in a box to Edo.
