二拾三人連に而三月十六日出立参詣いたし善光寺前旅
籠屋綿屋仁左衛門方に止宿罷在候処四月廿四日夜九時頃
大地震に而旅籠屋仁左衛門方は不及申隣家其外共潰家に相
成其上火事出来いたし左之通行衛不相分又は怪我いたし候者
同道人之内無難之者幷宿坊位成院ゟ指出候に付身寄
之者等追々出立いたし昨六日夜怪我人幷無難之者等引連

当未年、信州善光寺開帳につき、当宿場から左の名前の者ども二十三人連れで三月十六日に出立して参詣いたし、善光寺前の旅籠屋綿屋仁左衛門方に宿泊しておりましたところ、四月二十四日夜九時頃大地震で、旅籠屋仁左衛門方は申すに及ばず隣家その他とも潰れ家となり、その上火事が起こって、左の通り行方が分からなくなったり怪我をした者がおります。同道人の内無事な者並びに宿坊位成院から指示があったので、身寄りの者等が追々出立いたし、昨日六日夜、怪我人並びに無事な者等を引き連れて帰着いたしました。

April 2nd
In this year of the Sheep, for the opening ceremony of Zenkoji Temple in Shinano Province, twenty-three people with the following names from our post station departed on March 16th as a group to make pilgrimage. They were staying at the inn called Wataya run by Jinzaemon in front of Zenkoji Temple when, around 9 o'clock on the night of April 24th, a great earthquake occurred. Not only Jinzaemon's inn but also neighboring houses and others collapsed, and furthermore fires broke out. As listed below, some people's whereabouts became unknown or they were injured. Among the traveling companions, those who were unharmed, along with instructions from the temple lodging Inari-in, had their relatives gradually depart. Last night on the 6th, they returned bringing back both the injured and unharmed people.
