［数字不明］趣を承り候ところ、同国川中島辺りから善光寺、それから［数字不明］山中と唱える辺りまで、重々地震と相見え、川中島辺りでは民家一村残らず、また過半が揺り倒され、その上出火により残らず焼失いたした村もございます。一村で三四十人、二三百人程も即死、怪我人がございます。善光寺の町家並びも大体残らず揺り倒され、その上焼失し、大変な即死、怪我人等もございます。すべて往還筋はこの節善光寺供養につき、夥しい旅人が泊り合わせており、それ故死人も多分ございます由。山中辺りは手遠く片寄っているため様子が分かりかねますが、犀川上手に山崩れがあり、川中で留まり切れ、流水が全くなく、丹波島の渡船場は干上がり、歩行で渡っている由でございます。

[Number unclear] Having heard these circumstances, from Kawanakajima area in the same province to Zenkōji Temple, and from there to the area called [number unclear] Sanchu, there appear to have been repeated earthquakes. In the Kawanakajima area, entire villages of private houses, or more than half of them, were shaken down, and some villages were completely destroyed by fires that broke out afterward. In one village, thirty to forty people, in others two to three hundred people suffered immediate death and injuries. The townhouses of Zenkōji were also mostly all shaken down and subsequently burned, with many immediate deaths and injuries. All along the highway routes, due to the Zenkōji memorial service at this time, numerous travelers were staying overnight, and therefore there were many deaths as well.
