所之方更科郡之内安庭村小平林【山平林の誤記】村両村之辺に候岩倉山と
申高山半両端に抜崩一ケ所は三拾町壱ケ所は五丁程之
間川中へ押入其辺押埋村も有之然所多巌石之義に付
迚も水勢に而押切兼候様子依之次第湛平水ゟ凡七八丈にも
可及就夫数ケ村水中に相成候其辺湖水之体に御座候勿論
種々手当申付候へ共大山殊に巌石押入候義に付人力には何分
及兼可申哉且又川中島手之者共は右湛水何方へあふれ
一時押出可申哉難計と恐怖仕山手へ立退罷在丹波島
之者等は同様之義に而人馬継立等も出来兼尚精々手当申付
置候へ共先此段御届申上候委細之義は追而可申上候以上

所の方、更科郡の内、安庭村・小平林【山平林の誤記】村両村の辺にある岩倉山という
高山の半分両端が抜け崩れ、一か所は三十町、一か所は五町程の
間、川中へ押し入り、その辺りを押し埋めた村もあります。しかし所が多くの巨石であるため、
とても水の勢いでは押し切ることができない様子で、これにより次第に溜まった水が平水より凡そ七、八丈にも
及ぶでしょう。それによって数か村が水中になり、その辺りは湖水のような体をしております。もちろん
種々手当てを申し付けておりますが、大きな山、ことに巨石が押し入った件につき、人力ではどうにも
及ばないかと思われます。また川中島の手の者どもは、右の溜まった水がどちらへあふれ
一時に押し出すか計り難いと恐怖し、山手へ立ち退いて罷り在ります。丹波島
の者等は同様のことで、人馬の継立て等もできません。なお精々手当てを申し付け
置いておりますが、まずはこの段をお届け申し上げます。詳細については追って申し上げます。以上

In the area of Sarashina District, near the two villages of Antei and Kohirabayashi [mistakenly written as Yamahirabayashi], there is a high mountain called Iwakura-yama. Half of both ends of this mountain collapsed and slid down—one section about thirty chō and another about five chō in length—pushing into the river and burying the surrounding area, including some villages. However, since the area consists of massive rocks, it appears that the water flow cannot cut through them. As a result, the accumulated water has gradually risen about seven to eight jō above normal water level. This has submerged several villages, and the area now resembles a lake. Of course, I have ordered various countermeasures, but given that it involves a large mountain, particularly with massive rocks having pushed in, human efforts may be insufficient. Moreover, the people of Kawanakajima, fearing that this accumulated water might overflow somewhere and suddenly rush out, have evacuated to higher ground in terror. The people of Tanbajima face similar circumstances and cannot maintain horse relay stations. I have ordered every possible measure to be taken, but first I submit this report.
