現代語訳
それからかつ山は起きて廊下へ行き、手水鉢を闇雲に打つと、不思議なことに二階から金ばかりがざらざらと降り下がってきて、心地よく見えた。
「たとえ昼に攻められても大丈夫、大事ない」
かつ山は無限の金で打った手水鉢から出た金を拾い集めて三百両を工面し、亭主に渡して「かつ山を身請けしたい」と金を渡した。
「助六さん、明日の晩に迎えをよこしなさい」
亭主はかつ山を家へ連れて行って「お前は家の女房だぞ」と言った。
英語訳
Then Katsuyama got up, went to the corridor, and struck the hand-washing basin wildly. Mysteriously, nothing but gold coins came raining down from the second floor, creating a delightful sight.
"Even if attacked during the day, it's alright, no problem at all!"
Katsuyama gathered up the gold that came from the basin struck with infinite money, arranged three hundred ryō, and handed it to the brothel keeper, saying he wanted to buy out Katsuyama.
"Sukeroku-san, send someone to fetch her tomorrow evening."
The brothel keeper took Katsuyama home and said, "You are now the wife of this house."
