一昨夕年寄衆連名之奉書御用番伊豆守殿ゟ到来今日
登 城候処日光廿日 御名代被 仰付候段當勤之
同席中江直廻状太田攝津守安藤長門殿江も手紙其外

現代語訳
一、帰宅は九つ半過ぎであった。
一、昨夕、年寄衆連名の奉書が御用番伊豆守殿より到来し、今日登城したところ、日光二十日の御名代を仰せ付けられた段を当勤の同席中へ直ちに廻状した。太田摂津守、安藤長門殿へも手紙を出し、その他病気・幼少・在郷の衆へは下廻状を差し出した。
一、日光御名代を仰せ付けられたので、先例の通り日光門主その他日光奉行・上野在山役者衆・出家中東漸院並びに日光道中中田房川御関所支配御代官へ使者をもって知らせ方々へ頼み遣わした。
一、御用番松平伊豆守殿へ留守居の者が召し呼ばれ、御名代を仰せ付けられたので外桜田御門番を御免になった旨を御書付をもって仰せ渡された。これにより御礼のため伊豆守殿へのみ直勤した。

1. Last evening, a joint letter from the council of elders arrived from the duty elder Lord Izu-no-kami. When I ascended to the castle today, I immediately sent a circular notice to my current colleagues that I had been appointed as Nikko representative for the 20th. I also sent letters to Lord Ōta Settsu-no-kami and Lord Andō Nagato-no-kami, and sent lower circular notices to those who were ill, young, or in their domains.
1. Having been appointed as Nikko representative, I sent messengers according to precedent to the Nikko gate master, Nikko magistrates, Kōzuke provincial mountain officials, monks at Tōzen-in temple, and the deputy officials managing the Nakata Fusagawa checkpoint on the Nikko road to inform them and request their assistance.
1. The caretaker was summoned to the duty elder Lord Matsudaira Izu-no-kami, and was informed through written notification that because I had been appointed as representative, I was relieved of duty at the Outer Sakurada Gate. Accordingly, I performed direct service only to Lord Izu-no-kami to express gratitude.
