一元禄十四巳正月廿八日御書院番堤安左衛門屋敷之長屋昨廿七日ゟ出火長屋過半焼失依之伺之上遠慮二月六日御免《割書：正月｜九日メ》大■ニもケ様之遠慮六七日にて御免之例も有之ニ付
一享保二酉二月八日番外長谷川伝兵衛長屋今八日暮時過出火候へ共長屋少々焼申迄ニ而早速消申候依之伝兵衛伺之上遠慮《割書：五日｜メ》同十二日御免
一享保四酉年狛伊勢方長屋出火有之節遠慮可仕儀ニ候得共最前酒井与三左衛門方
出火有之節御評議故不致遠慮候間遠慮御断不申入候其段酒井丹下方へ罷越申

御家中火事その他御城下火事
一、元禄十四年巳正月二十八日 御書院番堤安左衛門屋敷の長屋が昨二十七日から出火し、長屋の過半が焼失した。これについて伺いの上遠慮し、二月六日御免となった（割書：正月九日まで）。大きな火事でもこのような遠慮は六、七日で御免の例もある。
一、享保二年酉二月八日 番外長谷川伝兵衛の長屋が今八日暮れ時過ぎに出火したが、長屋が少々焼けただけで早速消火した。これについて伝兵衛が伺いの上遠慮し（割書：五日まで）、同十二日御免となった。
一、享保四年酉年 狛伊勢方の長屋に出火があった節、遠慮すべき儀であったが、最前酒井与三左衛門方に出火があった節は御評議のため遠慮しなかったので、遠慮の御断りを申し入れなかった。その段を酒井丹下方へ罷り越し申し達してくれるよう御目付真杉所左衛門へ申し聞かせ、丹下方へ相達したところ承知で遠慮に及ばない旨を申し聞かせられた事が留められてある。
一、同十年巳八月十六日 御持弓頭市村勘右衛門の長屋が出火焼失し、伺いの上遠慮し（割書：十四日まで）、同二十九日御免となった（割書：ただし御国目付御逗留中なり）。
一、同十七年子三月二十七日昼八時過ぎ 城の橋嘉永頃須崎鷺助の家である粕谷伝左衛門家敷が火元で、侍家七軒が焼失し、本光寺も類焼した。伝左衛門が相伺い遠慮し、二十七日から四月十八日まで日数二十二日（割書：類焼の面々の家内の者や一類が引き取る儀は御目付へ断るまでで、願いは差し出さず。御留守年故このようである由）。
一、同十九年刁十一月十一日 浅見徳右衛門の長屋から出火し類焼三軒。徳右衛門が伺いの上遠慮し、十一日から二十五日まで日数十五日（割書：類焼の面々の家内一類が引き取る儀、今度は御在国故御聴にも達せられるので、それぞれ相願うよう御家老中から移りがあった。移り住む儀も相願い申した）。
一、延享元年子八月十五日 秋田左源太の居宅本家が残らず焼失し、類焼無し。蟄居を仰せ付けられ罷り在る同氏主鈴に別儀無し。
一 河合庄蔵の居宅本家が残らず焼失し、類焼無し。

Fires in the Retainer Quarters and Other Castle Town Fires
1. January 28th, Genroku 14 (Year of the Snake) - A fire broke out yesterday, the 27th, in the longhouse of the page guard Tsutsumi Anza-emon's residence, and more than half of the longhouse was destroyed. After making an inquiry about this, he was granted abstention and pardoned on February 6th (marginal note: until January 9th). Even for major fires, there are precedents of such abstention being pardoned in six or seven days.
1. February 8th, Kyōhō 2 (Year of the Rooster) - A fire broke out in the longhouse of the supernumerary Hasegawa Denbē after sunset today, the 8th, but only a small part of the longhouse burned and it was quickly extinguished. Regarding this, Denbē made an inquiry and abstained (marginal note: until the 5th), and was pardoned on the 12th of the same month.
1. Kyōhō 4 (Year of the Rooster) - When there was a fire at Koma Ise's longhouse, it should have been a matter for abstention, but since there was no abstention when there was previously a fire at Sakai Yosanza-emon's place due to deliberations, no request for abstention exemption was submitted. The inspector Masugi Shoza-emon was asked to go to Sakai Tange and convey this matter, and when it was conveyed to Tange, he acknowledged it and said abstention was not necessary. This matter is recorded.
1. August 16th, the same 10th year (Year of the Snake) - The longhouse of the bow commander Ichimura Kan'uemon caught fire and was destroyed. After making an inquiry, he abstained (marginal note: until the 14th) and was pardoned on the 29th of the same month (marginal note: however, the provincial inspector was staying).
1. March 27th, the same 17th year (Year of the Rat), past 8 o'clock in the day - A fire originated at Kasuya Denzaemon's residence (which was Suzaki Sagisuke's house around the Kaei period) near the castle bridge, destroying seven samurai houses, and Honkō-ji Temple was also destroyed by the spreading fire. Denzaemon made an inquiry and abstained from the 27th until April 18th, a period of 22 days (marginal note: The matter of family members and relatives of those affected by the fire being taken in only required notification to the inspector, with no formal petition submitted. This was done this way because it was during the lord's absence).
1. November 11th, the same 19th year (Year of the Boar) - A fire broke out from Asami Tokuuemon's longhouse, with three houses destroyed by spreading fire. Tokuuemon made an inquiry and abstained from the 11th to the 25th, a period of 15 days (marginal note: Regarding family members and relatives of those affected by fire being taken in, since the lord was in residence this time and the matter would reach his attention, the senior retainers instructed that each should make a formal petition. Petitions were also made regarding relocation matters).
1. August 15th, Enkyō 1 (Year of the Rat) - Akita Sagenta's main residence was completely destroyed by fire with no spread to other buildings. He was ordered to house arrest, and there were no special matters regarding his clan leader Suzu who was also in confinement.
