一宝永七寅年御参勤御道中起宿御本陣ニ而夜九時過御煎茶仕懸候火鉢ゟ畳并板へも
　火移候処早速消留候此段夜廻番之者御手廻矢野右衛門作三岡次郎左衛門御目付河津善太夫へ相
　達候ニ付令見分候処火鉢之下計ニて少々之事ニ候御煎茶取扱候当番之御坊主市村伝
　加不調法ニ而も可有候哉与翌廿日鳴海駅ニ而達御耳候処伝加儀僉議仕候様被仰付両人僉
　議仕候処不調法至極申訳無之断口上書取廿ニ日入御覧候処其向後因幡多門方堤安右衛門

一、類焼した侍中の家内・親類縁者の方へ引越する件は屋敷の部に記載されている　享保十九年寅年

一、宝永七年寅年、御参勤の御道中で宿泊した御本陣において、夜九時過ぎに御煎茶を準備していた火鉢から畳並びに板へも火が移ったが、早速消し止めた。この件を夜回り番の者、御手廻り矢野右衛門作・三岡次郎左衛門が御目付河津善太夫へ報告したため、見分させたところ、火鉢の下だけで軽微な事であった。御煎茶取扱い当番の御坊主市村伝加の不調法であったかと、翌二十日鳴海宿で御耳に達したところ、伝加について審議するよう仰せ付けられ、両人で審議したところ、不調法は極めて申し訳なく、弁解の余地なしとの口上書を取り、二十二日に御覧に入れた。その後因幡多門方堤安右衛門へ申し渡されたのは、伝加の不調法の件により御扶持を召し放ち、御国へ立ち入ってはならない旨であった。右の趣旨を御書付に印形をして受け取るよう申し聞かされ、側近がその旨を申し渡した。その節、御徒目付山代仁右衛門を呼び置いて取り扱わせた。

一、宝暦十二年午年六月八日昼八時、御本城橋の橋杭の水際から三尺程上が少々燃え上がったのを、その辺りにいた御普請方へ出向いていた御足軽共が早速打ち消した。右の節の夜中番人等の取り扱い留書がある。

下【後ろの「同六」が前へ】一、文化九年申年十二月、御座所御番所において御料理人部屋の小島四郎右衛門当番の節、火鉢から縁板・垂木板へ燃え抜けた。よって四郎右衛門は押込を仰せ付けられた。

上一、同六年己年五月、中嶋六軒町火事の節、御年寄の者と勝見町火消との間で言い分があったが、御普請方笹木七左衛門の取り扱いで内済として和解させた。

一、大橋御普請中の出火の節の御水主頭勤務方の件は御普請の部に記載されている。

Various Matters Concerning Fires

1. The matter of samurai families affected by fire spreading, and their household members, relatives, and relations moving elsewhere is recorded in the Residences Section. Kyōhō 19, Year of the Tiger.

1. In Hōei 7, Year of the Tiger, during the lord's journey to Edo (sankin-kōtai), at the main inn where they stayed, after 9 PM while preparing ceremonial tea, fire spread from the brazier to the tatami mats and floorboards, but was quickly extinguished. This matter was reported by the night patrol guards and personal attendants Yano Uemon Saku and Mitsuoka Jirōzaemon to Inspector Kawazu Zentayū, who conducted an inspection and found it was only minor damage under the brazier. Wondering if this was negligence by the monk Ichimura Denka who was in charge of tea preparation that day, the matter was brought to His Lordship's attention the next day (20th) at Narumi station. Orders were given to deliberate on Denka's case, and after deliberation by two officials, a written statement was submitted on the 22nd acknowledging extreme negligence with no excuse. Subsequently, it was conveyed through Inaba Tamon-kata Tsutsumi Yasuemon that Denka's stipend was revoked and he was banned from entering the domain due to his negligence. He was ordered to receive a written notice with his seal acknowledging this decision, which was conveyed by an aide. On that occasion, Foot Inspector Yamashiro Niemon was summoned to handle the matter.

On June 8th of Hōreki 12, Year of the Horse, at 8 AM, the main castle bridge piling caught fire about three feet above the waterline and flamed up slightly, but the foot soldiers who had proceeded there under the construction magistrate quickly extinguished it. There are records of the night watchmen's handling of this incident.

In December of Bunka 9, Year of the Monkey, in the guard station at the Audience Chamber, when cook Kojima Shirōemon was on duty, fire burned through from a brazier to the veranda boards and rafter boards. Consequently, Shirōemon was ordered confined to quarters.

Upper 1. In the 6th year of the same era, Year of the Snake, May, during the fire at Nakajima Rokken-chō, there was a dispute between the senior officials and the Katsumi-chō firefighters, but Construction Magistrate Sasaki Shichizaemon mediated and achieved an out-of-court settlement.
