一享保十七子年三月十一日山里水扣石垣御普請公儀へ御伺可被成儀ニ付絵図出来候事 享保四亥年石垣御修覆御伺之絵図近格ニ付其通りニ取扱可申旨 連々留有之
一元文三午年十一月十七日城之橋町裏水敲【異体字→本字】崩之段絵図を以御普請奉行相達候前々御達ハ無之所ニ
候得共近年御吟味強候間御目付共致吟味候様右談ニ付左膳方御家老中被申聞候ニ付申談候処前々上之橋町
裏ハ下町並二候処町人共相願家作仕候ニ付石垣之儀も自然普請ニいたし候由承伝候左候へハ御意
ニハ及間敷所ニ候得共御吟味次第之段申達候処追而御達ニ不及所ニ候間御普請之儀取扱候

【下部】一同年六月廿七日渥美新右衛門裏石垣御ふしん之節新右衛門屋敷内之悪水御堀へ
落樋を以相落候様相成候留有之
一同四未年山里水敲石垣御ふしん三月五日ゟ連々留有之并鈴木彦太夫屋敷前御堀端水敲石垣同断
一同五申年外中島御門脇南方柵木地伏下弐間半斗水出ニ崩候何も見分之上御家老中へ
相達候処御達ニも及間敷候御普請取懸候様ニ御普請奉行へ被仰付候旨ニ而其段申達候留有之
一同年御本丸御天守台之下御居間先塀下之石垣下り木戸明立成兼候石垣を元崩候
而為築直申度候内囲塀下石垣ニ候得共石垣之事故自分了簡ニ而難申付御家老中へ

御普請之部
石垣
一、享保十七年子年三月十一日、山里水控石垣の御普請について公儀へ御伺いをすべき件につき絵図が出来上がった事。享保四年亥年の石垣御修復御伺いの絵図が近例にあるため、その通りに取り扱うべき旨、連々記録あり。
一、元文三年午年十一月十七日、城之橋町裏の水敲が崩れた件について絵図をもって御普請奉行に相達した。前々からの御達示はない所であるが、近年御吟味が厳しいので御目付共が吟味するようにという話により、左膳方の御家老中が申し聞かせたので相談した所、前々上之橋町裏は下町並みであった所、町人共が相願いして家作をしたため、石垣の件も自然に普請をした由を承り伝えている。そうであれば御意には及ばない所であるが、御吟味次第である旨を申し達した所、追って御達示に及ばない所であるので御普請の件を取り扱うよう御普請奉行へ申し渡された記録あり。
【下部】一、同年六月二十七日、渥美新右衛門裏石垣御普請の節、新右衛門屋敷内の悪水を御堀へ落樋をもって相落とすよう相成った記録あり。
一、同四年未年、山里水敲石垣御普請について三月五日より連々記録あり。並びに鈴木彦太夫屋敷前御堀端水敲石垣も同断。
一、同五年申年、外中島御門脇南方の柵木地伏下二間半ほどが水出により崩れた。いずれも見分の上御家老中へ相達した所、御達示にも及ばないので御普請に取りかかるよう御普請奉行へ仰せ付けられた旨でその段申し達した記録あり。
一、同年、御本丸御天守台の下御居間先塀下の石垣、下り木戸が明け立てし兼ねるので石垣を元から崩して築き直したく思う。内囲塀下石垣であるが、石垣の事ゆえ自分の了簡では申し付け難く、御家老中へ申し達したき旨、御普請奉行共が申し聞いたため、右塀下石垣の件は御城御要害にかかる所でもない内囲の石垣の件であれば、取り崩し築き直しでも苦しからない、御家老中へ相伺いに及ばず築くよう挨拶をした事の記録あり。

1. Kyōhō 17, Year of the Rat, 3rd month, 11th day: Regarding the construction of the Yamazato water retention stone wall that required inquiry to the shogunate, a drawing was completed. Since there was a precedent drawing from the stone wall repair inquiry of Kyōhō 4, Year of the Boar, it was decided to handle the matter in the same manner. Records exist continuously.
1. Genbun 3, Year of the Horse, 11th month, 17th day: Regarding the collapse of the water striking wall behind Shirono-bashi-chō, this was reported to the construction magistrate with a drawing. Although there had been no previous official notifications for this area, since inspections have become stricter in recent years, the senior councilors from the Sazen faction instructed that the inspectors should conduct examinations. Upon consultation, it was learned that the area behind Kamino-hashi-chō had previously been at the same level as the lower town, but when townspeople requested to build houses there, stone wall construction was naturally undertaken. While this matter might not require official permission, it was reported that it would depend on the inspection. Subsequently, it was conveyed to the construction magistrate that since no further official notification was needed, construction should proceed. Records exist.
[Lower section] 1. Same year, 6th month, 27th day: During the stone wall construction behind Atsumi Shinuemon's property, arrangements were made for wastewater from within Shinuemon's residence to flow into the moat through drainage pipes. Records exist.
1. Same 4th year, Year of the Sheep: Regarding the Yamazato water striking stone wall construction, continuous records exist from the 3rd month, 5th day onward. The same applies to the water striking stone wall at the moat edge in front of Suzuki Hikotayū's residence.
1. Same 5th year, Year of the Monkey: About 2.5 ken of the palisade foundation south of the outer Nakajima gate collapsed due to flooding. After inspection, this was reported to the senior councilors, who instructed the construction magistrate to proceed with construction without requiring official notification. Records of this communication exist.
1. Same year: Regarding the stone wall below the fence in front of the living quarters under the main keep of the hon-maru, the descending gate could not be properly opened, so it was desired to demolish the stone wall from its foundation and rebuild it. Although this was a stone wall below an inner enclosure fence, since it concerned stone wall construction, the construction magistrates reported that they could not order this on their own authority and wished to report to the senior councilors. Since this fence stone wall matter did not concern the castle's defensive fortifications but rather internal enclosure stonework, it was deemed acceptable to demolish and rebuild without formal inquiry to the senior councilors.
