道橋
一道奉行罷出 公儀地之内穴抔明キ損候趣度毎相達候得ハ承置先ハ小普請方之水道方之者へ申付為繕候尤
餘程之儀ニ候得ハ呼寄申付ル又軽キ事ハ使之者口上申含相仕廻候事
一御城下橋々損所有之往来危相見得候ハヽ其所支配之方へ申遣御修覆之儀可取扱候事
但橋之上支配ハ小普請方也
一御本城橋御掛替御修覆共ニ御伺ニ不及候事
但前々御修覆を被仰出候而も矢張御掛替ニ候事
一元禄十六未年三月御本城橋損候ニ付御掛直被仰付儀徳山五兵衛殿大岡治右衛門殿を以土屋相模守殿
へ被得御内意候処橋之儀ハ御伺ニ不致候段御差図有之
一宝永三戌四月廿三日御本城橋御懸直シ出来候廿三日吉日ニ付御城代有賀猪左衛門同嫡子庄助御留守居皆川多左衛門同嫡子左京天方五郎左衛門同嫡子金五右衛門右之面々今辰之刻

道橋
一、道奉行が出向いて、公儀地の内で穴などが開いて損傷している趣を度々連絡してくる場合は承知して、まずは小普請方の水道方の者に申し付けて修繕させる。もっとも余程の事である場合は呼び寄せて申し付ける。また軽い事であれば使いの者に口頭で申し含めて処理させる。
一、御城下の橋々に損傷箇所があり往来が危険と見受けられる場合は、その所の支配の方へ申し遣わし、御修復の件を取り扱うべきである。
但し橋の上の支配は小普請方である。
一、御本城橋の御掛け替え、御修復共に御伺いに及ばない。
但し前々から御修復を仰せ出されても、やはり御掛け替えになる。
一、元禄十六年未年三月、御本城橋が損傷したため御掛け直しを仰せ付けられた件で、徳山五兵衛殿、大岡治右衛門殿を通して土屋相模守殿へ御内意を得た所、橋の件は御伺いをしない段の御指図があった。
一、宝永三年戌年四月二十三日、御本城橋御掛け直しが出来上がった。二十三日が吉日のため、御城代有賀猪左衛門、同嫡子庄助、御留守居皆川多左衛門、同嫡子左京、天方五郎左衛門、同嫡子金五右衛門、右の面々が辰の刻に渡り初めを勤めた。
よって御本丸へ御家老中並びに波々伯部小右衛門、奏者番中、町奉行、奉行中、目付中が山里から廊下橋へ回り登場し、各々御祝いがあった。もっとも御作事方役人中が出向いて終わってから各々御本丸橋から退出した。
一、寛保三年亥年六月十日、今度福井御城御本丸御橋が御破損したため、御伺いを入れ申すべきか、また御届けをなすべきかの件についてお座候。元禄十六年未年、享保十三年申年、右両年の御先例を申し達したが、しかし当時は入念な趣のため、右の断りを御内意で承りたい旨を、表御右筆組頭大橋藤九郎殿へ御聞番浅井源左衛門が御内々で承合した所、橋破損御普請

Roads and Bridges
1. When the road magistrate goes out and repeatedly reports that holes and other damage have occurred within the public domain (kōgi-chi), this shall be acknowledged, and first the water works personnel under the minor construction department (ko-bushin-kata) shall be ordered to make repairs. However, if it is a serious matter, they shall be summoned and given orders. For minor matters, messengers shall be given oral instructions to handle the situation.
1. When bridges in the castle town have damaged areas and traffic appears dangerous, notification shall be sent to the administrator of that area to handle the repair work.
Note: The administration of bridges falls under the minor construction department.
1. For the replacement and repair of the main castle bridge, no prior consultation is required.
Note: Even when repair orders have been issued previously, replacement is still carried out.
1. In Genroku 16, Year of the Sheep, 3rd month, when the main castle bridge was damaged and replacement was ordered, informal consultation was sought with Lord Tsuchiya Sagami-no-kami through Lord Tokuyama Gohei and Lord Ōoka Jiemon, whereupon instructions were given that no formal consultation was required for bridge matters.
1. On Hōei 3, Year of the Dog, 4th month, 23rd day, the replacement of the main castle bridge was completed. Since the 23rd was an auspicious day, castle deputy Ariga Inosaemon, his eldest son Shōsuke, castle caretaker Minagawa Tasaemon, his eldest son Sakyō, Tenkata Gorōzaemon, and his eldest son Kingorōemon performed the bridge-opening ceremony at the hour of the Dragon.
Consequently, the senior retainers, Hahakabu Kōemon, the ceremonial attendants, town magistrates, various magistrates, and inspectors proceeded to the main bailey via the corridor bridge from Yamazato, where each offered congratulations. The construction department officials attended and then departed via the main bailey bridge.
1. On Kanpō 3, Year of the Boar, 6th month, 10th day, regarding whether a formal consultation should be submitted or notification made concerning the damage to the main bailey bridge of Fukui Castle this time. The precedents from Genroku 16, Year of the Sheep, and Kyōhō 13, Year of the Monkey, were reported, however, since the current situation requires careful attention, inquiry was made privately through Lord Ōhashi Tōkurō, head of the official scribes, by hearing officer Asai Genzaemon regarding obtaining informal guidance on this matter.
