一御留守年【参勤交代で藩主が江戸にいる年】焔硝蔵御修覆之節薬外へ移申所ニ候へハ御奉行共御目付共立合申筈
但御奉行弐人御側武頭壱人玉薬奉行弐人御武具奉行三人御徒目付弐人二之丸御蔵

一元文三午年二之丸焔硝蔵御修覆有之同四未四月四日御修覆出来ニ付元御作事御櫓ゟ薬相納取扱留有之
一寛政二戌三月清水御門二階ニ有之候玉薬を元作事御櫓へ詰替有之ニ付七人番所
通用其外諸押宰領等取扱諸事留ニ有之
一延享二丑五月九日二ノ丸焔硝蔵御本丸近所ニ有之雷火之御懸念ニ付兼而御目付共被仰付置致評儀達御聴候処御城
外程不遠所ニ而前々御蔵被仰付例いかゝ可有之哉猶御用人中へも申談候様被仰付則御意之趣申達候事
一天保四巳四月中嶋焔硝蔵御成就ニ付元御作事御櫓ゟ塩硝御移替ニ付取扱諸事留ニ有之
現代語訳
焔硝蔵
一、御留守年（参勤交代で藩主が江戸にいる年）に焔硝蔵の御修復の節、火薬を外へ移す所であれば、御奉行共と御目付共が立ち合う筈である。
ただし御奉行二人、御側武頭一人、玉薬奉行二人、御武具奉行三人、御徒目付二人、二の丸御蔵預り一人、御城代与力一人、御持足軽六人、御先足軽九人、御留守組二人、御城代方手伝同組一人が罷出る筈であるとの由。
一、元文三年午年に二の丸焔硝蔵の御修復があり、同四年未年四月四日に御修復ができたため、元の御作事御櫓から火薬を納める取扱いの記録がある。
一、寛政二年戌年三月、清水御門二階にあった玉薬を元作事御櫓へ詰め替えることがあったため、七人番所の通用その他諸押宰領等の取扱いについて諸事記録にある。
一、延享二年丑年五月九日、二の丸焔硝蔵が御本丸近所にあり、雷火の御懸念があるため、かねてから御目付共に仰せ付けられて評議を行い、御聴に達したところ、御城外のほど遠くない所で、前々から御蔵を仰せ付けられた例はいかがであろうか、なお御用人中へも申し談じるよう仰せ付けられ、すなわち御意の趣を申し達した事。
一、天保四年巳年四月、中嶋焔硝蔵が御成就したため、元の御作事御櫓から塩硝を御移し替えすることについての取扱い諸事が記録にある。

Gunpowder Storage
1. During years when the lord is absent (years when the domain lord is in Edo for sankin-kotai), when the gunpowder storage undergoes repairs and gunpowder must be moved elsewhere, the magistrates and inspectors shall oversee the process.
However, the following personnel are expected to be present: two magistrates, one armed attendant chief, two gunpowder magistrates, three weapons magistrates, two foot soldier inspectors, one second bailey storage keeper, one castle deputy's assistant, six regular foot soldiers, nine advance foot soldiers, two castle guard group members, and one assistant from the castle deputy's support group.

In the 3rd year of Genbun, Year of the Horse, repairs were made to the Ninomaru gunpowder storage, and when the repairs were completed on the 4th day of the 4th month of the 4th year of Genbun, Year of the Sheep, there are records of the procedures for storing gunpowder from the original Construction Office turret.

In the 3rd month of the 2nd year of Kansei, Year of the Dog, gunpowder that was on the second floor of the Shimizu Gate was transferred to the original Construction Office turret, and there are records in the general affairs documents regarding the procedures for the seven-man guardhouse passage and other various administrative matters.

On the 9th day of the 5th month of the 2nd year of Enkyō, Year of the Ox, because the Ninomaru gunpowder storage was located near the main castle and there were concerns about lightning fires, the inspectors who had been previously appointed deliberated and reported to his lordship. They inquired about precedents for establishing storage facilities at locations not too far outside the castle grounds, and were instructed to also consult with the chamberlains, whereupon the purport of his lordship's intentions was communicated.
1. In the 4th month of the 4th year of Tenpō, Year of the Snake, when the Nakajima gunpowder storage was completed, there are records of the various procedures for transferring saltpeter from the original Construction Office turret.
